The site is located in lovely countryside and is easy to access. Staff were friendly and helpful. The toilet block was excellent - modern and clean at all times. We thought our visit was great value for money. The site is a fantastic location to visit RHS Rosemoor as well as the Tarka Way and Great Torrington.
Reception was closed when we arrived and our pitch number was posted outside. We appreciate that at this time of year it would not be cost effective to have someone sat in reception but we stayed for a week and never met anyone from the family run business. I would have thought that they might have considered bringing over our site information pack and checked whether everything was alright. The site was incredibly quiet and peaceful at this time of year and as expected the pool was not open. The site and toilet block were immaculately clean and the site is handily placed for visiting RHS Rosemoor and that part of North Devon or exploring the Tarka Trail. The premium pitches are a good size easily accommodating a caravan, awning and car.
Peaceful, friendly, facilities excellent.
Lovely campsite , very clean facilities , grounds well kept.
Easy direct access to the Tarka Trail.
We love this site, second visit for us and for us it's perfect as we love to cycle the tarka trail, it's easy to get onto the trail from the site, facilities on the site are always spotlessly clean, pitches are well looked after, staff are very friendly and helpful, well stocked shop, you can enjoy a quiet walk around the site if you are lucky you may spot the deer, we will definitely be going back.the puffing billy cafe is a must for a pitstop food is great and also good value.
Having stayed at a few campsites, Smytham is by far our favourite. The site is always clean and well maintained, the facilities are spotless, the on-site laundry is a god send when the weather has not been the best. Our dogs love the exercise area There are some good walks with some interesting thing's to see in the woodland
Lovely site, good spacious pitches with added picnic bench. Showers and toilets were kept spotlessly clean. Very well positioned site for access to the tarka trail, we rode both ways. 17 miles there and back the one way and 47 miles there and back the other way, really good maintained cycle track and views around the estuary are wonderful
We had a 2 night stay here originally but extended by one night because we loved the site so much. Helped by how quiet it was because we stayed out of season. Clean, high quality showers and toilets. Perfect spot to get onto the Tarka Trail.Lovely little outdoor pool as well, which we used. Very friendly, helpful staff.
We were cycle camping in late September, and arrived quite late. A note explained where to camp, & the weather was very kind to us.The facilities were spotless - great showers, good washing up area.Sadly only a 1-night stay on a mini-adventure, but a recommended spot to stay
