There is direct access from the Tarka Trail but coming from the north I took the long (and steep uphill) way round by road because the direct access isn't signposted (or described on the website). Even coming from the south it is not well signposted. But having arrived, all was good. I was put on a pitch close to the Amenities block which, as a 64 year old bloke, I appreciated! All the pitches have been levelled and the ground is firm and well-drained.There was no sign of the Cyclist's Kitchen described on the website. As it was raining steadily in the morning, I would've welcomed one. Instead, as I was the only person up at that time, I used the outdoor dishwashing area which had an overhanging roof.Overall, a very good campsite ideally situated halfway along the Tarka Trail.

Cleanliness FAB

Lovely relaxed site. The wash facilities is fantastic and very clean and well kept. Great access to walk onto Tarka Trail. Only constructive criticism would be there needs to be more dog poo bins placed around the site, especially in the dog walking field.

Everything is so clean

Brownhill, Christine - 27/04/2022

This is a lovely campsite. Our pitch had its own on suite facilities (toilet/shower/washing up) which is excellent. However the toilet & shower block us spotlessly clean. The pool was closed due to time of year, which was a bit disappointing as the weather was lovely.Shop is very small but does have the essentials.Their is not a lot for teenagers to do, especially when pool is closed. The access to the tarka trail is the main reason we chose this sight.Overall would highly recommend

The pod was warm, had a heater, well insulated ,double glazed door and window ,we came 3rd week April ,8°c at night .Could have done with some bedside lights to save getting out of bed to put lights off at night ,no hooks to hang cloths .We found the beds uncomfortable to sleep on ,I fell off mine first night ,we were there 3 nights ,on the last night we put the bed frames outside and put mattresses on floor and slept better .Folding tables and chairs and bar b cu bench seat and brick stand support for disposable bar b cue tray or a small propane gas cooker .

Had a great time at Smytham. Lovely pitch. Wow on the shower block 🤩. Easy check in, very friendly staff. We enjoyed the cycle (off road) to Biddeford. Fish & chips at the other end. Had a great lunch at Puffing Billy. It would have great to have the swimming pool open. My only suggestion would be to move out the park sign so that you can see it. Didn’t see until last minute 😬.
