We came here with three grandchildren and loved the views. it is very accessible to Kimmeridge and the South West Coast Path. The site is looked after really well looked after.
Easily accessed following the warden's excellent instructions, the site is very well maintained and, at the end of the season, beautifully quiet and peaceful. The warden was there on our arrival and was very welcoming and attentive, and there is also useful local information about the lovely walks you can do straight from the site. Rubbish and disposal facilities are good (though not a drive-over for grey waste). Electricity included in the overall rate. Phone signal is patchy so there is optional WiFi but we choose not to pay the extra £4 per 24 hours for this - it seemed a bit steep. The reasonable overnight rate reflects that there are no toilets or showers. You have to choose your pitch carefully depending on how steep a slope you can level on. We only needed small ramps on the grass hardstanding, but would not have been able to park in other areas of the field. We loved the area and enjoyed beautiful walks on the South West coast path and the Hardy Way on the hills.
Really nice, clean and tidy site, friendly warden and lovely location. Be amazing if they added toilets and showers though :)
We have been coming to the site for just over 40 years.Love it as it is.
Glyn was very helpful and friendly. The site facilities and information room first classWe also appreciate how he found after we left a small gadget we had dropped and wa returned by post very quickly
If travelling in a motorhome, it’s advisable to take a bicycle/ebike and a sturdy pair of walking boots. The site offers a beautiful tranquil setting. There are permissive footpaths to Kimmeridge beach and the other way towards the SW Coastal Path directly from the site. Although there are no washroom facilities, the fresh water and waste facilities are well appointed and spotlessly maintained. A 25minute cycle ride along quiet country lanes will take you to Corte Castle where there are 2 cycle parking areas and an excellent bus and train service. Check the Lulworth Range restriction times as this can affect your journey to the site (using SatNav). I found out the hard way, don’t ignore the road closed signage on Grange Hill! I will definitely return.
Very tidy site, beautiful views and Gwynne was a perfect manager with a demeanour that was interested and supportive (enough support and plenty of space). One of the best CL sites we have stayed at in 18 years of vanning.
Friendly & very helpful warden. Lovely views from our pitch over to Brandy Bay.Great to be able to wander down the vista & the permissive walks connecting to the coast path were excellent.Brilliant place to enjoy wonderful walks directly from your caravan.
The site was so peaceful and allowed us to hear all the nature around, from hares, buzzards and the soothing sounds of owls at night. The walks from the site with the permissive paths were perfect.Glyn was also very helpful as this was our first ever motorhome excursion and his local knowledge was invaluable.
