What a wonderful place to stay. We had one night away with the kids, they loved it and will definitely be coming back. Peaceful site with a lovely forest feel to it. Great playground and football area. We would love to come back and hire bikes next time. 5 stars!
Located within easy reach of arterial roads, the camp is a relaxed, peaceful location, with an abundance of birdlife in a wooded environment. Management is friendly, attentive and very accommodating. The pod and bungalow we occupied were very neat and well appointed.
Ruthern is set in beautiful countryside only 10 to 15 minutes to all the amenities in Bodmin. Chalet was spotless and was lovely having bed made up. There are plenty of places to visit in under an hour
The lodge was great; set in a lovely, peaceful wildlife setting. It was immacutely clean. Comfy bed. Easy to reach both coasts so lots to do. Good value for money. Lovely to have a private balcony for the evenings. The only downside was the armchair needs replacing due to wear and tear and a sunken seat!Would definitely stay there again tho.
Third visit in so many years. Always found the accommodation clean and comfortable. Lovely quiet setting with trees, birds and squirrels and a very friendly Robin who loves visiting daily. Owners extremely friendly and helpful. If you are looking for pub or club on site, there isn't any, which suits us fine. Will be returning either later in the year, but if not possible, definitely next year.
My husband and I had a lovely week staying in a log cabin at Ruthern Valley. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed. The site is quiet, peaceful and a haven for wildlife. There is a shop to get those ‘forgotten’ and last minute things. NOTE:Anyone wanting to use the Bodmin Parkway and have a day out on the train need to be aware that parking spaces are very limited and there were none available at 9.30 on a weekday morning. There is more parking at Lostwithiel although that too was full when we got there but there is street parking.
A good central point in Cornwall, and in a lovely wooded valley with many species of wildlife. Ideal facilities and fully self-contained wash/shower rooms.
Loved the stay at Ruthern Valley. The quiet, the grounds and the bird life. The accommodation is basic which is reflected in the reasonable price e.g. icebox in fridge and no freezer. Enjoyed seeing many species of birds inc robin that flies into the accommodation!
Fantastic little campsite. Directions on website worked perfectly. Friendly, informative and helpful welcome on arrival.Quiet site within an easy cycle to join the Camel Trail.
