Close to great bike trails. Wasn’t far from Newquay where we were able to walk a long way on the beach at low tide.Narrow lanes around the campsite.Caravan was very clean and comfortable, had everything we wanted.Enjoyed our stay very much.
We were very pleased with our holiday accommodation, it was clean and spacious and in a beautiful green setting. The bungalow was well equipped and had electric heaters which warmed up the rooms in no time, although the large windows let in lots of light and heat from the sun during the day, so only used the heating briefly after dark. The site was very green with lots of grass, hedges, wild flowers and trees. We had a pleasant stroll through the site to see the pigs and chickens. We used this as a base to visit other parts of Cornwall, as it was central and access via the narrow country lanes to the A road network was fairly easy. We also walked and cycled along the Camel Trail which was only about 20 minutes walk away.
A stunning location, the site and the accomodation are immaculate, perfectly placed for both north and south coast and of course the wonderful Camel Trail. Owners couldnt be more cheerful or helpful.
Everyone who helped us was friendly and accommodating. They were flexible and helped in many ways, as they knew we did not have a car they offered to let us use the shop after hours if we ran into problems. The camp shop was well-stocked and affordable, even more than other grocery stores. It was one of the few places during the trip we didn't want to leave. As soon as we are able, we'll be back.
We came to Ruthern Valley 10-12th May and brought our 6 month old with us too. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend! The Megapod was clean and tidy and was even provided with plates and cutlery. The pod was big enough to fit our travel cot and was nice and warm. We had a small TV which we were able to access and the pod came with wifi. The campsite had clean shower facilities and you were able to do washing etc for a small cost. The shop on site had you everything you needed and Nicola and Andrew were lovely and welcoming 😃 Thank you for a lovely and tranquil glamping experience.
Myself, and my family had such a lovely 2 night break here in a mega pod. Lovely accomodation that feels like you are really within nature. Perfect for a quiet and fun adventure with family.
Had such a nice time were upgraded upon arrival from basic enough Glamping hut to the Glamping huts with bed, and small kitchen. This definitely made a difference to us as we didn’t have to worry about sorting our bed out and could relax straight away. The environment around the hut is hothouse full of wild flowers and we thoroughly enjoyed the small river flowing through the site. It was the perfect stop point for our bank holiday spent exploring Cornwall.
A very well run site, delightfully situated in mature woodland. Quiet, well spaced pitches. Toilets and showers were regularly cleaned and the site shop was well stocked. A great site for those looking for peace and quiet in a fairly remote setting but very close to the delightful Camel Trail.
We are a couple who stayed for two nights in a mega pod. Very comfortable and warm. Heating worked well which was much appreciated as is was chilly in April. We took our own bikes and rode on the Camel trail to Padstow for a lovely day. It helped that the weather was fine that day. We also walked to Bodmin on the trail and had a meal in the pub. The mega pod has everything you need, including plates, bowls and some cutlery. There is a small TV which we didn’t use much but there if you want to use it. Showering facilities are in a separate block. The owners have a handy shop if you forget something. Altogether a very enjoyable short break.
