The site itself was great. The issue I had was the bar and restaurant shut at 4pm. There was nowhere to get an evening meal.
Thank you for your valued review and feedback.Whilst we understand your frustrations with regards our limited opening on an evening at Lordstones, we must try and offer some explanation. We would love to be open more often for evening service and to look after all guests that stay with us camping and glamping, but it is not financially viable.Since the pandemic, we have suffered considerably with price increases of our food and drink produce, aswell as our utility prices being more than double the price since 2020.We have therefore had to change our opening hours as customer numbers have reduced and we have reflected this in our all day menu offering too.We hope that you can understand our position and why this decision was made with evening service openings.
Although there seemed no other campers there when I arrived, I was allocated a small pitch in 'Woodland Retreat' where the ground was soggy and littered with pine cones but there is no other site in the locality.
The site was very well presented and the campsite is nice and secluded. The pitches are a good site and the camping area was very good.Showers and toilets were very good and very clean. I would recommend Lordstones as a stop over on the coast to coast walk.
The site was clean, tidy and comfortable and in a gorgeous location. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only issue we encountered was the water point in the woodland area only spewed out cloudy, white water. Not ideal in summer. However, we would stay again and recommend.
Lovely rural place to stay. The staff were very welcoming. The cabin was fab very clean and came with a little welcome hamper, even had an bbq overlooking a pond
Campsite on a slope. Beautiful views but noisy in the weekends on the side of the glamping and pods.
Lovely location, Glamping pods really good. It rained for 90% of our weekend away so could not use the outside barbecue. I would come back and stay again but I will be better prepared. There is no phone reception or WiFi in the glamping pods. As it rained for most of the weekend, be careful on the steps down to the pods, it gets very slippy.Overall great experience
we would highly recommend lordstones. staff were brilliant and everyone was happy to help.
Staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to make things easier for me after an unexpected surgery before my stay. This made it possible for me to still attend rather than missing out on the family break.
For those C2C walkers for whom the stage from Ingleby Cross or Osmotherley to Blakely Ridge is a little bit too much, Lordstones provides an excellent opportunity to break the stage into two. Friendly staff, excellent restaurant and nice little shop. Very adequate camping facilities. The surrounding area is beautiful.
