It was are first outing in our campervan, the couple who were on duty were very friendly and very supportive when asking questions. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for new year's eve for a couple of days. The facilities were excellent.
Beware of the routes getting in. I came through Longnor and the roads were very tight quite a few cars had to back up to let me through with my caravan.Great dog walking field which was a godsend as no real off road dog walks direct from site that we could find.Showers and toilets were clean, tidy and warm but have seen a lot better but to be fair were perfectly acceptable.Great dog wash area although drain was blocked so room flooded when used.We picked a fully serviced pitch which was on quite a slope so blocks are needed. Also the waste drain point was higher than the pitch so difficult to drain water. Also no one ever cleaned up any of the thousands of fallen leaves so made the site feel quite dirty.Very quiet and with little lights the night sky views were amazing.Think site caters more for the static vans than tourers. Apart from checking in didn’t see the wardens.
The access to the site from Longnor is not good in wet weather, be prepared to have to clean your outfit! Having said that it is a compact, well run and tidy campsite. The staff are friendly and helpful, The area has some stunning views and is a great base for walking and close enough to Buxton and Bakewell to visit. The toilet block although not new was always in a clean and well stocked condition. Would definitely recommend in reasonable weather.
Beautifully kept site, quiet in a lovely part of the country. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money and within easy access to Buxton and Bakewell among many places to visit. We will be going back and highly recommend it.
We booked it not knowing what to expect. They really excelled. We booked a birthday package and they went above and beyond with it. We are so grateful they made our time there amazing. Our fairy lights were not working on the hot tub and someone came so quickly and sorted it. Fantastic place and value for money. Will definitely be returning.
Friendly staff great site 5th time here in 3 years
My little dog and I stay in a regular basis with our campervan either come in my own or with friends who have also loved the site. The pitches are great and the facilities are spotless. The views are fantastic and the dog walking area is fab. Every single member of staff is lovely too and nothing is too much trouble. Actually can’t rate this site highly enough. FANTASTIC.See you soon ☺️🐶
We stayed in our campervan on a hardstanding pitch. Everything we needed was close by. The undercover washing up area was well fitted out with microwave, kettle, toaster and freezer. The showers and toilets were warm and very clean with music playing. There was lots of information available to us with a book swap point, games and small shop. There is also a sauna and games room available to use. We walked into Longnor which was 1.7 miles away where there is a lovely pub, shop, post office and a couple of cafes. This site is well placed for walking or travelling to different towns. We have stayed previously and will definitely return.
