Great few nights staying at Longnor wood, we love it here and so do the doggies. What I like about it is the save areas for the dogs, fields with fences around so the dogs can have a run.Love the views and plenty of things to do on site.Ie pool table, darts, gymWe will be back
We really enjoyed our stay at Longnor Wood, except for the very tricky approach road which was a bit worrying to navigate whilst towing a caravan. In addition I would suggest that some form of insect control is installed in the washrooms to cut down the number of flies.
Me and my partner have stayed here twice previously and loved it and are currently looked to book our next stay. I have very recently (last weekend) booked for my parents to go for her 70th birthday and wrote this in the booking notes. The staff surprised her (and myself!) by sitting the lodge out with birthday balloons, banners, birthday card and prosecco. Thankyou very much Longnor Wood, exceptional service x
We had another lovely peaceful and perfect relaxing three night stay. The lodges and caravans are so clean and well kitted out, we have stayed in both and this time in a pet friendly Buxton mini lodge with our two minature Dachshunds. There was a lovely treat box especially for them and the decking with two gates was perfect to keep them safe whilst we were soaking in the hot tub. The amenities have increased since we last stayed with the addition of a gym and sauna on offer. We took advantage of the Indian takeway and it was delicious. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The facilities and site overall were great. However, the lack of privacy between pitches isn’t desirable in truth. Many/ most customers have dogs, and those which were reactive didn’t fair well with this. Also, when a pitch is near a thoroughfare, like ours was, there is no privacy, which isn’t something we enjoyed. The food options/ delivery are excellent, however, along with the showers/ toilet blocks.
Really lovely site, great location if you have transport to get around locally. 1 mile walk into the village for pub and cafes etc. Great site and we would stay again however the only slight negative was that whilst the showers and toilets were spotlessly clean on day of arrival they were in need of a clean the following 2 days. Same for both mens and women's. For a site of this size I would expect cleaners to be in more frequently considering the price we paid and the number of staff on site (plenty). That said we would definitely stay again. The views are unbelievable in a beautiful location.
Very peaceful and great for walking our dog Molly She loved the field for running around Lodge was spotless and comfortable all good
Longnor Wood is an excellent place, good access, but peaceful. It is within easy reach of Buxton, Chatsworth, some stunning scenery and interesting villages with a scattering of very good pubs. There are walks to Longnor village with welcoming cafes, a couple of shops, and a good pub. The staff at the park are friendly and helpful, delivering takeaways on Thursdays (curry), Fridays (fish and chips) and Saturdays (pizzas). The curries are fabulous - large portions! The site facilities are excellent with well kept showers, toilets and washing blocks. We've visited for a number of years, for the International Gilbert and Sullivan festival at Buxton, and we keep returning!
