We have stayed several times and would highly recommend. The location is in the Durham Dale's surrounded by countryside .Village short walk away with cafes , pubs and shops.Site is well maintained, showers and toilets modern and spotless.Access to the river from the site.Lots of things to do locally: walking, cycling etc
The camping site was spotless with big pitches which is always very welcomed. The toilet block was clean, modern with different shower room, we had a wonderful stay. And the added benefit of my husband being able to fly fish this beautiful stretch of the river was very much welcomed, he had a very successful weekend fly fishing. We will be back
The site was lovely with plenty of space between each pitch. The shower and toilets were lovely and clean, you did need 50p for the shower but you can get these from the shop, one 50p is sufficient for a good shower. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely walk from the site along the river into Middleton, where there are numerous cafes and coffee shops as well as a Coop.We had our dog with us and there is a dog walking field where she could be off lead.We will definitely be back
The site is in an excellent location. Our pitch was right beside the beautiful River Tees. We were there mid week and the site was very quiet. The facilities were kept very clean. There are amazing walks in the area, along The Pennine Way and River Tees Way. High Force waterfall is only a few miles walk from the campsite and is fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Leekworth and will definitely go back.
Excellent site and facilities. Easy walk along the river into the town which has good restaurants and cafes. Would definitely stay again
Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, lovely views around and a great position for walking Pennine Way, nice village.
The site is close to impressive waterfalls like High Force and Couldron Snout, interesting castles like Raby Castle and Barnard Castle (including the village). Only one hour by car for visiting Hadrian's Wall or the city of Durham. Nice walk along the river to the village Middleton with sufficient food and drink supply. The camping site shows clean and provides enough space between the pitches. The facilities for washing-up, showering etc seem very poor related to all guests that could come to the site. We really missed a laundry room with a washing machine as we were already travelling around for some weeks then. The collective men's toilet might be replaced by separate ones in order to please the noses of the people washing themselves in the same area. We didn't understand why showering has to be payed for. The push button already reduces the water supply and the pleasure of showering. Finally we thank you for providing an excellent website for searching and booking a pitch.
Brilliant site, very honest bloke thanks for all your help
An excellent site! Ideally situated for exploring many of Durham and North Yorkshire's beauty spots and local attractions (not that far from the Lake District either). Everything about the site was very clean and well maintained. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. Ideal if you have a dog too, lovely walks by the river and also a good 'play pen' for them on site if they need a bit of freedom to run off lead. We have been here before and will certainly stay here again.
Site is located beside the river on the outskirts of Middleton in Teesdale which means you can walk into the town. Facilities are very clean and pitches large. Very peaceful site.
