Leekworth Caravan & Camping Park is situated on the outskirts of the historic market village of Middleton in Teesdale, and very close to Barnard Castle. The stunning natural beauty of the North Pennines surrounds our site and is set on the banks of the River Tees.
The famous Teesdale Way runs alongside the site and joins us to the Pennine Way and Middleton village centre, with its country shops and cafes, is only a 10 minute walk away.
With fantastic facilities on site including 1000 meters of free fishing on the River Tees, (rod licence required) and the surrounding area offering miles and miles of footpaths to explore the glorious countryside, museums, garden, attractions and so much more, we are confident that your stay will be one to remember.
We now have an adult-only section with limited pitches available (these fill up fast so you'll have to be quick to book!)
We do a lot of amazing things here at Leekworth Caravan and Camping Site in Teesdale, all managed and maintained by the Brough family. Robin, the owner, who is helped by his Mam Liz, and his Nana Lorna, all of whom have immense pride in their work to help you have an amazing time. Nothing is too much trouble for this family team, who strive to bring you the best holiday in the whole of County Durham.
The Leekworth Caravan & Camping Park has electric hook-up hardstand pitches and caters for caravans, motorhomes, and tents. We also offer seasonal pitches, pitch and store and winter storage. We have a newly built reception/shop and the newly built shower and toilet block has underfloor heating throughout.
Teesdale in the upper reaches of the Durham Dales has so much to offer, so much to discover and explore. From seeking out the caveman’s cave up Beck Road, to discovering the remnants of the old mines that litter the landscape offering a glimpse of a time long gone.
A visit to Teesdale offers an ideal holiday or short break, Teesdale is the inspirational Durham Dale with a spectacular unspoilt landscape and stunning heritage sites, here you can drive for miles on quiet, open roads, walk on waymarked footpaths, cycle along quiet country lanes and pony trek through heather and woodland. A large part of Teesdale is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has a European Geopark status.
Please note, we have a strict no noise policy after 10.30pm and due to the narrow entry lane to our site, arrival is strictly no earlier than 2.30pm.

Had a brilliant stay at Leekworth, facilities were very clean we had some excellent circular walks from the site. Dog exercise field was great. This was our second visit to Leekworth and I’m sure it won’t be our last. Some fully serviced pitches would be a great addition however nothing is too far away.Robin and his staff were very helpful and informative.
Everything was really lovely. Loved the dog exercise area, it was a really nice touch. It was clean and everyone was friendly. Only problem was the hard pitch (A5) was not big enough. We could not fit our caravan and porch awning on it but apart from that we only have good comments. We would definitely recommend it and we would possibly stay again if we were in the area.
Great site and friendly staff. Facilities good.Pitches great even in the rain. Short walk into Middleton with a couple of pubs shops and cafes. Overall a good stay but hopefully better weather next time.
Friendly clean excellent site just the driveway a little narrow for larger vehicles but manageable!owner helpful and accommodating.
Toilets and showers were immaculate, good pitch size.dog walks on site and y th hey even hire fire pits and supply wood.we will definitely be returning 👍
Owner extremely pleasant and helpful, extremely clean showers and toilet block. Fantastic area, had a great stay.
Been coming to Leeksworth for at least 3 years now. It never lets us down. The area is stunning and the walk along the river beautiful. Robin is friendly and so is his mam. Toilet and shower blocks are always clean, as is the whole campsite. It may have been busy over Easter but it was still peaceful. The village is just a walk away, and has everything you could need if you forget something. Just working out when we are going back for our next visit.
Couldn't possibly wish for a better place to pitch a tent for a fabulous relaxing break.
We had a wonderful time. We stayed for 3 nights and had no problems. The river was as amazing and the site was clean and well cared for. The shower and toilets were always clean and warm. Friendly staff and brilliant location to go and visit local attractions.
Long narrow lane to the site, this could be a problem with few passing points. Site request new arrivals not to arrive until 1430 which reduces the risk of meeting oncoming vehicles. High Force waterfall, the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle Are two must attractions to visit.
