Thoroughly enjoyed our touring caravan stay at Janson Fishery over the festive season. The site was quiet and it was great to have the various options for fishing and we had a very busy couple of afternoons on the caravan park lake catching various species.Nice powerful hot showers in the two toilets / showers on site for tourers to use. Didn’t get a chance to eat in the on-site cafe during our stay but would definitely try it out if we return. Plenty of food shopping and eating out options locally with Bingham and some other villages close by. We particularly enjoyed our meal at the Durham Ox Inn. The glamping pods looked lovely so if you prefer a bit more by luxury they would be a great option. Just one thing that I would recommend as an improvement is to have a look at some anti slip strips on the decking outside of the toilets as they did get slippery when wet. Thanks to Linda and Jeff for providing a lovely site and a very pleasant stay. Overall good value for m
Pod was clean and well equipped, warm and comfortable and we received a warm welcome. The fishing was as good as ever and the fish were in good condition which is important to me. We will be back early in the new year.
Spot-on location for the area I wanted to visit. Very pleasant location - close to main routes and with some great National Trust places nearby, but quite rural. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I thought it was fairly priced. The site was well-maintained and pitches were well-spaced, all with great views of the lake. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit grey and cold when I was there, but I bet it looks fantastic in the summer! The toilet & shower facilities were really good, but missing a few little things that might make them even better - I'd have liked a mop so I could mop the floor after using the shower (there was a bucket & water but no mop!) to leave it ready for the next person, and a bath mat to stand on (luckily I had one with me) as the floor got quite wet after showering and a bit muddy from walking across the site. A chair to put a shower bag or to sit on when getting dressed, and a hook or shelf inside showers to put shampoo/shower gel on could be useful, too.
A really good access way in a great country side location an extremely friendly and helpful staff good clean facilities an extremely good cafe providing excellent food also the surrounding areas have good shopping and outdoor market facilities.
Easy access from A52, although the road nearby can be busy, noise is not an issue at night.Super flat hard standing pitches at lakeside, some are fully serviced. No drive over waste for motorhomes? Perhaps a consideration for the future?Warm, clean and well kept toilet/shower pods.A short drive to Belvoir Castle, Nottingham City only a few miles away.
Flat hardcore pitches. Toilets and showers appeared clean but did not see them cleaned very often. The water in the mop bucket needed changing daily and I never saw clear water in the bucket. A bit of noise from the road. Dog walk available but you need transport to access country walks unless you want to walk on the road with no pavement. Indian restaurant/take away just around the corner very good.
I booked Jansons at the last minute due to another cancelled event. The weather had been awful so they moved my from a grass pitch that I had booked to a hard standing automatically. We like Jansens because it’s not too far from home. The fishing is good. The showers & facilities have always been kept clean & they are nice. Not too far to drive into the village of Bingham & Belvoir Castle. It’s a peaceful site too. Away from the main road.
We stayed for my husband to do a local bike ride, the chap that met us was very welcoming, the campsite is a little gem, the showers and toilets are spotless . The grounds are very well kept. We will be returning highly recommended.
My trip was great, fishing was great only downside was traffic noise only other thing was to have information on notice board of local facilities ie chip shop
Really good site staff helpful pod was very good comfortable and clean fishing was brilliant fished doughnut and had a good days fishing as well as outside pod had some good barble and golden tench
