Owners really friendly and welcoming, pitches very good. Fishing 1st class, will definitely be returning soon
Brilliant host excellent facilities first class fishing
We were simply looking for an overnight park up in our campervan. The site offered everything you could expect but ours really was the briefest of stays so difficult to give a proper review. I was really impressed to find that the toilets and shower had been cleaned and floor mopped before 7am and the host was up and opened the gate for our early departure. Our visit was mid January and they are obviously having work done on the site which caused it to be quite muddy but I see this as a positive thing. They are obviously taking advantage of the quieter months to make further improvements to the site fir the benefit of future guests.
Super friendly campsite, very clean and great if you like your fishing! Can get a muddy in the bad weather but nothing a pair of wellies won’t sort! 😃
Fantastic 2 day break friendly staff and owners as always broke the ice to fish and still fished brilliant
What a brilliant spot. As soon as we arrived Dee was on hand to welcome us, explaining where everything was and which was our pitch. A lovely friendly chatty lady. She told us about the on site cafe and that you get fresh eggs from the chickens on site too. Sadly we didn’t get round to trying those. There are extensive fishing ponds, they looked very popular and well patronised. We do not fish so cannot really comment, but our pitch neighbours were fishing and were regularly catching impressive looking fish. There are two separate rooms which contain a shower cubicle, toilet and basin. There were immaculate- so clean- so hot. The only feedback would be is that they could do with making a hard surface path from road to shower room doors. Currently you have to walk across the grass so after all the rain during our visit it was a bit messy and slippery. They look fairly new so a path may be on the agenda. It could also do with one to the chemical toilet empty point & a bit of hardstanding
Immaculate kept toilet and showers friendly and helpful staff only downside for us was no lighting on site very dark light for toilet block came on when you got near but it would benefit having a few light posts especially as it's on lake edge
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. And the facilities are very good. My only criticism would be the hardstanding could do with some tlc.
Stoped for a long weekend.Staff fantastic.Pitch’s are quite small. Fishing goodNeed to improve on the lighting around the lake, it was very poor. Would not be a problem in the summer but on these dark nights it was.Not a great place if you have dogs as the dog walks very small.
Great little site which would be even better if fires were allowed in some way. I have a portable wood burning stove for example that is minimal fire risk and would make it a great site through winter
