Touring Caravan - Good Poiints / Bad Points

Shearer, Maureen - 15/09/2024

First impression very good. Very helpful, friendly staff. Beautifuly maintained and very clean facilities block - very impressive. and immaculate - the best we've seen. Bushes, etc well maintained and manicured - good to see. Lovely eating establishments close by. Only downside and disappointing - we were on stance 14 and very dirty, untidy and unkempt caravan adjacent with loads of scrap metal/rubbish lying around - looked unused for sometime. One or two similar on the site. Unsightly to look out on and did spoil the relaxation element of the visit and overall impression and rating of this site. Probably should be addressed as this site has so much positives and it's a shame that this let's the site down. Please accept this as constructive criticism and not meant in any way mlaliciously.

First class!

Drever, Andrew - 15/09/2024

Driving in to the complex, my first impression was that it was extremely well maintained - clean, tidy and welcoming and the pitches fitted in with the natural growth of the trees. The Website was easy to use and gave pitch choice options. The receptionist was welcoming during pre-arrival phone call, on arrival, and during a request. The pitch was ample and, with the trees and fencing, it provided ample privacy. I stayed 4 nights and during that time, I found the toilet/shower block to be comfortably heated and always clean, tidy, and fresh. The shower cubicles provided a dry area to undress/dress and there was plenty of hot water delivered at a good pressure. On my morning of leaving, I had a flat battery but this was no problem - The Receptionist called Maintenance and within a few minutes he arrived with jump leads and got me started! It's a great location - easy distance for walking into Aviemore and plenty of cycling and walking routes on the doorstep. I'll definitely be back!

Very crowded

We have been before but this time in summer we were disappointed to find the campsite so busy. We left a day early mainly due to noise and also traffic noise from the nearby road, lovely town but not for us sorry.

Weekend camp

Nicholson, Gary - 12/09/2024

Definitely the best camp site in the area. The facilities are excellent and the whole site including toilet and shower block is clean and well maintained. We have stayed at Highrange many times and will continue to do so however on this occasion I’ve not given it the usual 5 stars, not an issue with the campsite as such more an issue with some of the residents over this particular weekend. A group of men were in one of the pitches and clearly under the influence of a lot of alcohol and drugs, they arrived on the Saturday and were very noisy through the early hours of Sunday morning between 2am and 5am, moving about the campsite , cutting through between pitches, slamming their van doors constantly and even being sick on numerous occasions. The smell of weed was very strong.I know some campsites have an anti social policy which requires a monetary bond paid by groups booking and also a curfew for noise, perhaps this is something that Highrange might consider.

We visit this park every year as, in our view, it's ideally situated for a walk in to the centre of town, close to all the bike and walking trails and is quiet, clean and welcoming. The staff are very helpful and the facilities are kept very clean and tidy.
