Great campsite. Have stayed before with our caravan and this time had a wigwam. There is a choice of wigwams depending on how much you want in terms of creature comforts. Staff are helpful and friendly. Facilities are clean, modern and well thought out including a well stocked shop. There is a nice play area for kids, animals to see and a number of walks from the campsite. Haltwhistle and Hadrian's Wall are just a few minutes drive away.
Overall it was a lovely stay , the pod was clean, modern and everything we needed, the mattress was very very soft , not good for most people’s backs . The hot tub was lovely but as it’s December we felt like the water wasn’t warm enough. Our little Xmas tree didn’t light up as batteries had died . . all just little things but for the price and the time allowed - 3pm to 10am I expected slightly better . Reception staff were lovely and very helpful when we arrived
Absolutely brilliant place very safe views are fab animals are well looked after overall fantastic place to stay
Stayed in a Castle pod for two nights for my husbands 60th. The pod was immaculately clean, warm and well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was lovely and warm and a nice treat. One small addition we'd recommend is a squeegee for the shower.Weve stayed at Herding Hill many times with our caravan and you always get a warm welcome from the friendly wardens.Well placed to visit many places including NT properties such as Wallington Hall and Gibside. We also visited Corbridge which has some nice independent shops. We'll definitely be back.
Great site and facilities, we had a fantastic view from our castle pod and hot tub.close to Haltwhistle too for drinks and food.
We have stayed with our touring caravan on several occasions. This stay, weather excepted, was like all the others, staff great and facilities excellent. Highly recommended site and a brilliant area to explore.
Lovely location, superb facilities, very friendly and accommodating of our late arrival. Good meal and service at the local Milecastle Inn.
Fabulous site, Friendly staff, excellent facilities and all super clean, good dog walk on site, would definitely recommend
Site up a steep winding road. A very warm welcome with treats for our dogs. Perfect for star gazing. Never seen so many, and a shooting star was wonderful. Dog enclosure was terrific but unfortunately I was unable to get to it as the access was up a very steep and uneven pathway, with no handrail. I had to make do with videos that my husband took with our 2 dogs. Accessible bathroom was warm and clean. Could do with hooks for coats and bags. Had to put toiletries on the floor whilst using the shower. Needs a shelf by the toilet as nowhere to put medical supplies. Washing up area clean and warm. Plenty of hot water. Lovely site for walkers .
We booked 1 night in November on our trip back from Scotland. Staying in the wee wig wam.q The whole site was very thoughtfully set out with enough space between pods and pitches. We received a warm and helpful welcome. Pod was good lovely and warm. Site facilities were excellent and well thought out. The only slight negative as we'd had a long week and wanted to watch a film was that the wifi was terrible and didn't work inside the pod the site is in a place where mobile data work well though. Be warned though if you set up the double bed as the picture you will end up with the bed boards and mattress coming apart and falling off. Need to put the whole out accoss the room.
