We received a warm welcome upon arrival. Our pod was as described and was very clean and well maintained. The heater was more than adequate for our stay despite it being very cold outside. The facilities were great, our children loved feeding the animals and though we didn't get chance to use it, the play park looked great. We had a good nights sleep, the site was very quiet. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Second time I’ve been to herdman hill now, and on both occasions the site and staff are beyond expectations.
As part of our winter touring we ended up in Northumbria and found this wonderful place online - their online booking system is great! Arrived to a very warm welcome - toilets and showers block were next level - there were baths!! Power showers and a proper hair dryer!! Music in the bathrooms too - all been given great thought and of course immaculate.. laundry room great alsoA communal kitchen area to eat and use microwave et plus a vending machine - prob the best site we every stayed at - we walked to Hadrian’s wall/ Roman forts plus a pub at end of the road - price for touring was excellent value and everyone was so lovely and friendly - and it snowed!!! So a perfect stay thank you!
We have stayed at Herding Hill ovwr new year for the past 5 years (except during COVID 2020 when it was closed) and every time it's been great. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and provide excellent service whilst allowing you as much privacy as you want / need. The facilities are the best we have experienced in terms of cleanliness, as clean as a hotel and with all you could need for a glamping / camping trip. The pods are warm and cosy - we always book one with a toilet and running water which is basically self contained (sink, hot and cold water, toilet with sink in separate room, fridge, toaster, kettle, heater and plugs for devices). This year was our first with our new baby (6 months) and we had everything we needed still. Family friendly atmosphere and it's a beautiful location for dog walks (plenty of dog bins around the site and it's pet friendly) or exploring Hadrian's wall. It's also a brilliant place to stargaze (and 2024 is a good year for the northern l
Very satisfied with the facilities and customer service.
We were please at how clean and well kept the whole site was. Toilets and showers were immaculate. Very friendly man on arrival who invited us to feed the animals in the morning as we had a child in our party, she really enjoyed feeding all the animals. We have rebooked for may already and invited more family to join. The location is brilliant too, perfect for walks and close to a nice pub. Brilliant team there and amazing facilities
Really enjoyed our stay in the Castle Pods - we couldn't fault anything. Spotlessly clean and felt really private. Lovely friendly staff - we look forward to returning.
Friendly staff and a great site with immaculate facilities. Excellent dog walking area. They put on drinks and nibbles on New Years Eve which was nice. Close by (about 1 mile) to Haltwhistle with a few good pubs and plenty of local amenities, but a steep up hill walk if you don't want to drive down to the village. Would definitely stay here again.
Amazing site friendly staff and the facilities were fantastic. We took our dog and the dog walking tracks were beautiful. I would recommend anyone to stay there and we will definitely be returning soon!
The pod is immaculate and has everything anyone would need to enjoy their stay. It was cold and wet weather throughout our stay, however we were 'snug as bugs' with the underfloor heating and the log burner which is really efficient and easy to use. The views are fantastic and a real pleasure to wake up to.The Wardens were all very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The local town is only a mile away and has everything you need with a Sainsburys, Co-op, a number of pubs all serving food and dog friendly. Fish and chip shops with one delivering to the site. There is also an Indian, Chinese and a selection of cafes.Just up the road from the site is a lovely pub serving great food and a selection of ales and ciders. It is approx. a 10 minute walk and well worth a visit. All in all, we had a great stay and will definitely be visiting again.
