Well what can I say the campsite was amazing, the staff went above and beyond to help always a happy face, we had a fault with our folding camper and staff was very fast to act and phoned me while I was out due to a water leak, due to this I was able to get back to the site and prevent any more damage, the staff was so helpful even to the point of offering us a pod to stay in for the night but due to the lovely weather we was able to dry out and clean up the water with towels they gave us. I can’t fault this campsite in anyway like I said they went above and beyond and truly made you feel like home from home.
A really good site. I don't have any camping gear so I chose the wee wigwam to give the two kids a feeling of camping. They loved it but looked at the wigwams with the hot tubs for next time! We stayed for 4 nights which felt about right.I took the kids out but this time they were happy spending time on site making friends and having fun.Feeding the animals, the footie field and the dog walking paths (for me) gave the site a sense of spaceFriday night pizza is a great idea and the pizzas were tasty and inexpensive and brought to your hutThe site is brilliantly situated - down the burn to the town and up the road to the Wall.
Lovely campsite, clean and very useful facilities. Toilets and showers were clean, even had a bath for my little one. Indoor room to wash dishes with microwave and kettle and freezer for ice. Laundry room to dry. Kids loved the play area, the animals were lovely & we had good competitive game of rounders on the playing field. Made new friends and everyone was respectful with the 10.30 quiet time. We had a lovely day out at wallaby farm with the kids which was around 30mins away- would definitely reccomend! Thank you
A warm welcome and friendly staff right from the start and carried all the way through our stayThe cleanliness on the site is excellent with all the amenities and facilities you need.Made great use of the dog walking field and the thoughtful extras such as dog throwing aids and poo bags.I always feel very safe at this site and in this location of Haltwhistle.Great location for walk by the Gorge to the town Centre along the river and it is not a far walk from Hadrian‘s wall. The site is classed as dark sky status due to it’s location, and managed to see the meteor shower and eclipse. We used a barbecue hut for a family event which felt very intimate and had everything you needed. We have been coming to Herding Hill farm for over 15 years and it is in my top three sites to visit.
Outstanding site, great staff, perfect location, 5* facilities. Will definitely be back and recommended to all.
Well placed for Hadrians Wall attractions, easy to find and access. Campervan pitches close to toilets even had baths! Very clean. Good for young families with football pitch, animals and dog walking. Plenty of space on hard standing pitches. Lovely dark skies (bring a torch for night time loo breaks) As a sole traveller i felt very safe and had everything i needed
We stayed in one of the castle pods last year for an adult holiday and thought our children would love the site so we took them with us this time and stayed in one of the family pods with a hot tub. The children had a brilliant time. The site is very safe and they loved the freedom of being able to roam around the site. They made friends with the other children on the site and the highlight of the holiday was staying up late to watch a meteor shower. We had a great view of the stars and one of the staff members came around the site and gave the children some free gifts which really contributed to the magic of the evening. The children loved feeding the animals, the staff were all very good with children and the toilet block is really clean and has fantastic facilities. If you are going then we would recommend a trip to Haltwhistle outdoor pool as the children had an amazing time there.
This was our first time at this site and my family are already asking when we can return. Very well kept, friendly staff and great facilities
Lovely site with excellent and spotless amenities. Staff very helpful and friendly. They dealt with a noise incident well at what is a quiet site!
We really enjoyed our stay at Herding Hill Farm. The staff were excellent throughout, very friendly and welcoming, and the animal petting was a lovely touch, particularly for children. The toilet and shower block was clean, modern and well maintained, although the facilities felt a little limited for the number of guests when the site was busy. Our pitch was large, level and gave us plenty of space. There isn't much privacy between pitches though, so it can feel quite open. The site is advertised as quiet, but during our stay a group of 5–6 preteens were running around and regularly going in and out of the toilet block during the evening. Things settled down around 10:30pm and it was peaceful afterwards. Ultimately, that's down to the parents rather than the site, although a little more monitoring would be welcome given the quiet-site policy.Overall, a very well-kept site with excellent staff, good-sized pitches and lovely facilities. The animals are a real bonus.
