Gorgeous place with amazing staff

Devenney, Karen - 30/06/2025

Lovely location so close to so much of Hadrians Wall. The site was clean, comfy and excellent facilities. Hot tub was amazing! But special thanks to the amazing and welcoming staff. We didn't realise the shop shut sooner on a saturday and a bloke opened up for us 1.5 hours after it had shut. This was going above and beyond and was much appreciated. His golden retriever puppy was utterly gorgeous!Massive thanks to all and hope to come back. But without the massive thunderstorm please :-)

A first class campsite

I cannot fault the facilities , very clean and well maintained. The proximity to Hadrian's Wall and the bus stopping at the gates of the site creates lots of possibilities for linnear walks. The Milecastle Inn just up the road serves good food. I would be good if there was another grass camping area for small tents without electric hook up, for cyclists and back packers. The grass pitches are very large and would easiliy accommodate at least two small tents.

Friendly staff, good facilities and the best 'dog walk' ever!

Stanton, Olivia - 29/06/2025

Stayed for 3 nights in mototrhome mid June. Initially, we found out pitch disappointing (23) as it had a 'layby' feel, quite small in comparison to others and without the privacy hedging. Didn't take advantage of the surrounding views. . It was sheltered from the wind however. A helpful map was supplied for walks into Haltwhistle and Hadrian's Wall. Pub nearby. Bus stop outside the gate serves Haltwhistle and Hexham. The animals on site were a bonus (Coco the donkey is hilarious!). No push button showers here - proper domestic type, a massive plus. Even baths, great if you were there in the winter! The dog field deserves a special mention - our dog absolutely loved tearing down the mown paths in the meadow whilst we took in the most amazing views.. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If I could chose, I think pitch 19 would be my preference, hopefully on another visit.

A brief stay

Jackson, Diana - 29/06/2025

We stayed at this campsite to try and experience the dark skies. Unfortunately it was not to be - the weather was definitely against us,which is a shame as the offer the camp site gives for making this such an experience was a really good one. The facilities were very good - nice hot showers, and an indoor room to eat, wash up, get drinks and snacks. It is very well placed for Hadrian’s Wall, and we visited Housesteads while we were there. The only downside is that there were not really any pitches with views, and our pitch was private, but was hemmed in by 2 hedges.

This area of Northumberland offers fabulous walking along Hadrian's Wall, historic sites to visit, beautiful towns such as Corbridge, Hexham, and great food and hospitality at the very many establishments, notably the Twice Brewed Inn and the Milecastle Inn.

Lovely little campsite

Donnex, Susan - 26/06/2025

We stayed here for two nights in June, what a lovely place. The farm and its animals is a definite for family’s to visit. The toilets and showers are nice and clean, and the shower heads are removable, that’s always a plus 😛 We arrived on a Friday which was the day they were offering freshly cooked pizzas delivered to your plot. So that was nice.We loved the dog wash area, the dogs weren’t quite so impressed 😂 We walked down the hill into the town, the hill is quite steep but there is a bus you can take instead. We came back via the stream and fields which was lovely (and didn’t seem as steep, but probably was 😂) Finally, you must walk up to the dog walking area because the view over the hill into Haltwhistle is lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay 👍😀
