Liked the Friday pizza delivery 🚚. Facilities very good and clean. Will return soon.
We have camped in a tent at Herding Hill twice before but this time we stayed in the luxury pods and were very impressed with themand, we were very happy with everything about it. It is well maintained, very clean and well stocked with a starter pack...coffee ,tea, milk, biscuits, washing up liquid and toilet soap and shower gel plus a starter pack of kindling and logs for the log burner and BBQ. We had an issue with the tv, we couldn't get it to work so they moved us straightaway. The pods look out to countryside and are very peaceful, just what we needed. The staff were amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. We walked into Haltwhistle, the Sill and sycamore gap, lots to see and do surrounded by beautiful countryside. We loved every minute of our 3 night stay, well worth the money. We will be returning. Thank you to the staff at herding Hill.
Really enjoyed our stay, great facilities and the wardens were so helpful. Grandchildren had a fabulous time with the animals and the footy field. Planning our next visit already. Thank you.
Thank you again for a lovely few nights, this time we were sheltered from the worst of Storm Amy as the winds blew fiercely. We however, took advantage of the sauna which was lovely and warming. The staff are aways friendly and were very happy to move us to hard standing as it was raining so hard. Facilities always clean and lovely that they are heated. It is just the perfect place to camp when the weather tries its hardest to do its worst! Can really recommend. Also an excellent location for everything Hadrian's Wall, with walks straight from the campsite.
our second stay at Herding Hill, friendly staff on arrival and treats for our dog. Clean spacious pitches and excellent facilities. Easy access to walking along Hadrians wall, short drive to Haltwhistle and good pubs. Loved the animals on site too !
Absolutely wonderful site. Accommodation excellent, amenities excellent. Staff so helpful, nothing was a problem.I would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.
What an amazing site! It really does have something for everyone and we wish we'd found it sooner! From arriving to leaving everything runs like clockwork. The check in is quick and easy, we had our dogs with us and the little free welcome pack for them was a lovely touch. We ordered their fresh pizza on arrival to save the faff of setting up and cooking. We also picked up some decently priced local beers from the site shop to go with it. Setting up was a doddle, the tourer pitches are a really good size and have hedges for privacy. There was a great area with mown paths for walking the dogs and admiring the views, with a secure dog field as well. There was even a properly set up dog bath/shower which we didn't need to use but thought was a nice touch. The shower block was warm and clean and fresh water points were plentiful. The staff were very helpful and super friendly. Children are well catered for too with a play fort and animals to see. Thank you Herding Hill, we'll be back.
One of the best sites around. Mostly level pitches. Great toilets and showers. There is a public footpath in next field and would love a gate put in wall so you could access it instead of having to go out in the road. There is a nice track to it to but the miserable people at far end don't want you using it.!
Recently stayed for my husband’s birthday. Though the weather was miserable we still had a great time. We stayed in a castle pod again and it was fantastic. You literally turn up with just your clothes and food/drink as they have thought of everything. I paid for the celebration pack so the pod was decorated for us arriving. We managed to to the hot tub twice due to the weather. The pod was lovely and warm with the underfloor heating and the wood burning stove. We ordered pizzas for the Friday night and they were delivered at the time we requested. The site itself is immaculate, so clean and tidy.Loved seeing all the animals again. We walked down to the pub down the road for a mealin the Saturday night and it only takes about 10 minutes each way. Hardly any cars passed us so it felt really safe.
Our 2nd stay here.Lovely new shower block. All clean and tidy.Everyone helpful.Would definitely recommend and come backYou can walk straight to the footpaths and pub 😀General store on site too.
