We stayed in our motorhome on this lovely site. The staff were very helpful, moving us nearer the toilet block to help me as I have a stoma. The food in the Ski Bar on the next site does lovely food, is dog friendly and reasonably priced. The homemade ice cream on site was amazing. First time to Cumbria and we will be back
Staff Very friendly and very helpfull. Facilities spot on. Beautiful area and local area and people lovely. We will definately come back in the better weather. Look forward to our next break.
Impressed with site on arrival, beautiful views of mountains and sea. Very fiendly lady in office who directed us to our pitch with no fuss or problem. We have 2 dogs so needed lovely walks and you have them from harbour lights. You are close to the beach but the water was only in on one day. It does get muddy and smelly in some parts. We walked into Haverigg but there was only a shop and post office open. The Rising Sun pub was closed when we were there on Mon and Tues, as was the chip shop, but it was January 2025.We walked into Millom which was quiet but a few shops open. The Bear on the Square did nice food. There is a train you can get to Carlisle or Barrow in Furness. The Ski Bar on site was open from 12 every day and did lovely food at competitive prices. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will go back. If you looking for peace and quiet it is ideal but there is not much to do unless you enjoy walking and having a nice meal and a pint.
Great site with good facilities, shower room and toilets are individual, clean, modern and very warm. Homemade cake and ice cream shop on site. The beach is a huge sandy expanse, ideal for dogs. The sea is a bit far out when the tide is out but it was January when we went, so not about to swim.
This was our first time staying at Harbour Lights and it couldn't have been any better. From the warm and friendly welcome, the quality of the pitch and the standard of the toilet block, everything was perfect. Even though we visited in the bleak midwinter, the campsite rests in a dip, so we were relatively sheltered from the stormy weather. It's what rests on your doorstep that really sells this campsite, as the walk around the lagoon and Hodbarrow Nature Reserve was quite spectacular and perfect for the dog. We enjoyed a couple of pints in The Rising Sun (local Haverigg pub), with both the atmosphere and the choice of beers being spot on. We were also pleasantly surprised at how busy The Ski Bar was on site; very dog friendly and the food was very nice indeed. I would imagine that this site is stunning in the summer and we'll definitely be back to check it out.
Had a lovely stay . Nice lady on reception who showed us where everything was. Showers were lovely and clean. Motorhome facilities were excellent. We had a lovely meal at the Ski bar just up the road. Would definitely return if in the area again.
We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas and new years the heated shower rooms are excellent as was the coffee shop and a short walk to the Ski Bar just topped it all off nicely. We will definitely be returning
We have stayed at Harbour Lights in our camper van many times over the past 2 years. You can be on the sea shore within a minute and there are lots of walks to do. The pitches are level and the facilities are modern and clean. Most importantly, to us, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
We stayed on grass pitch by the entrance. First impression was that the roads on the site are badly needing repaired and have lots of large pot holes. The grass over all of the site was very wet, so couldn't park my car by my tent, and the ground very stoney when trying to get pegs in. Shower / toilet block was good and cleaned regularly. Staff on check in were great and checked on us during our stay. Pub / restaurant on site was really good and we ate there both nights. Food was lovely and would recommend the lasagne!
