Lovely and clean accommodation, great location. Will be returning

Accommodation is easy to find and in a lovely location, close to Retford town and local attractions. Check in process is simple and staff are friendly. Accommodation is clean and has all essentials you require. We appreciated the bonus of stocked toilet roll, towels, tea/coffee and salt and pepper. These things aren't always included.Property is spacious and the layout is well thought out.It was lovely to sit on the balcony or on the decking at the front. I travelled with my mother, 2 year old and 11 year old. This perfectly suited us all. My Mum could relax on the balcony in the calming setting. My 2 year old enjoyed his bike and playing in the hot tub (accommodation could also fit our travel cot in the bedroom), and my 11 year old loved the fishing opportunities. There is some building works nearby that disrupted the tranquil silence but it's not too loud so it didn't bother us too much. I would also suggest cutting back the reeds that have grown between the decking and the la

First time campers ...

Massa, Sasha - 03/06/2026

We visited Hallcroft as a bit of a taster due to us being new to camping. As we lived close it was a great choice in case anything went wrong. I messaged the park multiple times to receive no answers, communication can be improved. When we arrived, our pitch had been given to someone else. The 2 men that I spoke to, did however go out of their way to help us and we ended up on the non electric field and they let us borrow an electric hook up cable to extend ours so we could reach the hook up. We actually didn't mind this as we were then able to be set away from the crowds at that time. This was a Thursday, so by the Friday night it was much busier. We had our dog that was on a lead or ground spike at all times, yet there were owners allowing their dogs to run around and roam freely which was not monitored by the park. Noise was not monitored either. We had a tent next to us with music on gone 11pm. The grass area is not great for tents but workable. Really liked the shower block.

Pitches too close

Pollard, Tracy - 08/05/2026

We have been before 2yrs ago. Had a lovely view with large lake in front. This time where we were, pitches too close together, fire risk as pitches had fences put up around caravans. Outside sheds with bins. Front row in front of large lake was ok but we were other side in front of smaller lake and had the fishermen's cars parked in front of our pitch and blocked our view. Very tight too move in and out of our pitch.Toilet block smelt fusty. No plugs for sinks and showers.Very run down.

Vicious speed bumps and dirty toilets

Eagles, Ron - 26/04/2026

We booked just one night here on a fully serviced super pitch. There was no one working in reception to welcome us. So the guy in the tackle shop gave us instruction to our pitch. The approach to the site is past a recycling centre and an industrial estate so it was busy. Then the speed bumps…vicious and we were only doing 5mph. The location of our pitch was lovely overlooking one of the many lakes until our resident neighbour came home and parked his rusty old van in front of us on the edge of the lake blocking our view. The toilets had been well used and were filthy. There was a lot of fishing going on, lots of water birds and lots of residents clearly living on site. So it had the look of a shanty town. There is no drive over drain/ hard standing/service points for motorhomes. The lodges looked very nice and had separate/better positions on the site. When we left the next morning one of the speed bumps ripped off our waste water pipe and once again we were crawling through the site.

Honest review

Millington, Michelle - 19/04/2026

First impressions the initial part of the campsite was great; however, the camping area seemed crammed together, and the area was not very clean or tidy. The bathrooms were in a poor state, and the pile of rubbish outside was an eyesore and off-putting. The pile of rubbish clearly visible on the small island was also unsightly. We would have complained but the reception was not open when we arrived or when we left.
