Fishing stay

Baker, Mark - 16/07/2024

No contact on arrival - no point of contact or information on facilities.Given rubbish pitch next to noisey council tip and main entrance by a member of staff in the tackle shop that had no idea of our booking.Purchased 2 day tickets to fish only to find dead fish in several ponds - no notice as to why or any pond closures even after speaking to the staff in tackle shop.Got told by ground staff to move off one pond as it’s closed - no signage or information anywhere onsite. After speaking to a permanent caravan resident found out the facilities are over the other side and only got told about the out of date toilets only which we found by walking around.Complained to site they said I should have looked harder for a site member….. I’m afraid that is not my job they should give you everything you need on arrival

I booked well in advance to fish the Moat lake after checking on line that there were no organised matches on.You can imagine my surprise when the Lake was closed for the duration of our stay. The fish were topping like mad we couldn't see why it was closed. This was the only reason we returned.

think the speed humps to the site are rather severe should be wider and more of a ramp. may be fine for cars but for caravans or motorhomes as said, to severe Others commented to us (just a sugestion) Otherwise excellent site for fishing and amenities

A really enjoyable stay.

Fretwell, John - 27/06/2024

I booked on line for a 3 night stay on one of the super pitches, easy hassle free with all the information provided giving peace of mind.On arrival I was checked in swiftly by friendly staff with a warm welcome and was soon getting comfortable on my pitch.Very easy to get on even without a motor mover, very clean and with electric, water and waste all ready to plug into which is just terrific.I enjoyed a peaceful break fishing making good use of the really well stocked tackle shop, the fishing was excellent and there’s plenty of variety to be had in lakes and fish.A really lovely site with good solid facilities, showers were clean and hot, cafe and bar on site provide decent food and a cold alcoholic beverage in the evening, exactly what you want whilst enjoying the fishing.Overall a very hassle free peaceful enjoyable few days in a lovely place, can’t wait to go back.

Nice site. But there was too much noise constantly from people shouting all through the night , also 6am the next morning shouting started and woke everybody up , so no relaxing atmosphere at all.
