Nice little village just down the road with a nice country walk to get there.
Our first stay on this site during October half term. It was easy to find and check in. Pitch was a good size, enough for our very large tent and van. Hired a fire pit which was well worth it for the colder evenings. Facilities were well kept and site shop/cafe looked useful although we didn't need to use this time. Excellent location for the forest bike/sculpture trail, Puzzlewood etc so lots to do in the area. Lovely to hear the owls at night!
Thank you so much for your lovely review and recommendation. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back another time.
Greenacres is a really well run site, clean, tidy with excellent facilities. It is within easy reach of beautiful countryside and some great towns such as Monmouth and Ross on Wye. The site is family and dog friendly, and provides excellent breakfast baps and fresh croissant

We stayed here 3 years ago for a long weekend with family this time sadly we only stayed for one night but yet again it was quite clean and plenty of hot water it won’t be are last time either.
Thank you for your review and recommendation - we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back.
We felt very welcomed the hosts were friendly. We were given clear instructions where to park upon arrival. We enjoyed our stay the site had plenty of clean amenities. Sadly they do charge for dogs ( this always leaves a bitter taste ) there was no dog walking field or dog wash area provided so unsure why they cost to have with us. The showers were clean and spacious but have a push button which is very annoying it shut off every 15 seconds. So the *hold the botton with one hand and try and wash with the other* it’s always fun. The shower room was freezing cold so it wasn’t the best experience. Whilst the site provided a good emergency stop off for us we probably wouldn’t return.
Hi Lyndsay, thanks for your feedback. I have reviewed the heating and as a result have turned it on longer. Thank you - it is good to know this and be able to make it better. We are making some changes over the winter - I think a dog shower is a great idea and will get one added too. You would be surprised at the impact of some owners' dogs - I appreciate your dog was not an issue but some are, hence the cost. You can literally go out of the back gate into 44 acres of recreation fields for dog walks or cross the road into the wood. I will look at the push button showers but feel these are the best option for us at the moment - I am always happy to consider alternatives. We do hope you will stay another time and am sure you will enjoy a longer visit.
The location of this site for the Forest of Dean is good. Right on the doorstep of all the lovely forest walks. In terms of facilities- a few aspects felt below standard. The water points are a simple tap above a base earth - no drainage for the inevitable spills, hence becoming muddy.Grey water disposal points are situated with a raised drain surround that makes emptying a heavy waste water container difficult and impossible to empty without spillage onto the deck.Shower and toilets were perfectly functional, but without any apparent form of heating, meaning on colder mornings a great deal of condensationDuring our stay there was a power cut - nothing to do with the site. On discovery of no power a number of us tried the emergency number which went to voicemail. Reasons given - a) by the person that they were in the shower b) later by the person on-site that the persons second job was in an area of known poorer phone coverage. Contact was established after about 30 minu
Very friendly staff, good clean facilities and excellent site to access walks in Forest of Dean.
Thank you for your review and recommendation, we look forward to welcoming you back to Greenacres in the future.
I stayed here with 3 friends in campervans. When we arrived to a warm welcome our grass pitches were changed to hard standing (as a suggestion,we could have stuck to grass) because of the extreme rain. We we thoughtfully grouped together as they knew we had come as friends. Great facilities. Really clean. Extremely helpful and friendly staff . We will definitely return.
Thank you so much for your review and recommendation. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back.
