Camping break with family & friends

Graham, E - 05/08/2022

Cushendun campsite is situated in a fantastic wooded location with a quiet beach on its doorstop, ideal for swimming and kayaks. Dippers at dun do a morning swim from campsite and are very welcome of newbies. The toilets and facilities are always kept clean and Amanda is very helpful and does an excellent job as on site warden, 5 star rating for this. This is our third visit on an annual camping trip with friends and family and we were fortunate to have booked on a fun filled weekend on site, with kids talent show, dog Olympics, scavenger hunt and traditional music as entertainment. Local Mary McBrides has a tasty menu but you do need to book early. Lots to do in the locality, beach, kids play area, caves in Cushendun and Walks locally, including Ronans way, Cregagh wood, Ballycastle, Cushendall and Waterfoot.

Pretty site, relaxing stay

Bloxsom, Allison - 01/08/2022

Cushendun caravan park has small touring section, fully serviced, large pitches with wifi and at a reasonable price. Very clean and tidy site with friendly, helpful staff. Facilties are well kept with £1 for shower. Very close to a beautiful beach, play park and small pretty village. Small shop in village with basic requirements and a pleasant pub. Lovely base to explore the Glens of Antrim. Great for water activities. Definitely recommend for a relaxing, quiet break.

No reception staff, noisy kids

Fanning, Allan - 29/07/2022

Can’t comment on ‘staff friendliness’ as we didn’t meet any, either on arrival or leaving. I’ll probably be told that the touring pitches were of regulation size and spacing but I thought we were quite cramped with the space - our neighbour could have stuck an arm outside their awning and touched our motorhome. Unruly kids running around the touring pitch area, water balloon fights, water balloon hitting our van and constant yelling etc. After 2 hours of arrival we decided to leave the site and we spent the night in a car park in the town which was far more peaceful. Only returned to the site the next morning for a quick shower with still no staff around to make complaint to. Not impressed when you have pre-paid a site then have to decide to leave for a bit of peace.

Faultless

We weren't sure what to expect as we are new to camping but pleasantly surprised by the excellent facilities on site. Staff were friendly and helpful, toilets/showers clean and tidy. There was also a communal kitchen with kettle, toaster, microwave, cooker and plenty of hot water. Felt very secure, well lit at night, excellent location. A short walk thru a lovely wooded area at the back of the camp site led us down to the beach which was amazing...
