Situated in the heart of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite offers visitors the most spectacular location from which to explore and enjoy the Lake District.

We offer a diverse range of family friendly options for your stay including camping pitches, electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and campervans, static caravans to rent, static caravans to buy, or why not try ‘glamping’ and stay in one of our traditional Shepherd’s Huts combining luxury camping with an age-old custom.

Nestling in an idyllic oak woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland sheep farm, the area is a haven for wildlife with stunning views to the mountains. Yet the pretty village of Nether Wasdale with its 2 wonderful country inns serving hearty meals and fine ales, is only a two minute stroll away.

Wasdale is home to England’s deepest lake, highest mountain and smallest church and yet the wonderful beaches on Cumbria’s coastline are only a few miles distant. Whether you wish to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt valley or take advantage of the many opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and kayaking or visit some of West Cumbria’s many attractions, Church Stile is your perfect location.

Great location, clean facilities, friendly staff

Goodman, Lydia - 03/07/2022

I stayed here with some friends for a long weekend. It’s in a great location to get to scarfell pike and the surrounding lakes. The shower/toilets were clean every time we used them and there were enough that we didn’t need to wait. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our favourite place!

Clark, Ricky - 03/07/2022

The whole campsite is fantastic and the camping shop. We've been many times now and it is our favourite place. The only thing I didn't like on this visit was the addition of having to use a code each time to go into the toilets. Seems abit pointless and abit of a faff each time you want to go.

Lovely location

Heath, Paula - 03/07/2022

Stayed in one of the static caravans for a week. Managed to book before prices went up. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Shower had nice warm water and pressure. Site is kept clean, a bit noisy at times late at night but it was busy. Good location for the falls and fab views from the site. Cafe is well stocked, friendly helpful staff. Wifi in cafe only, hit and miss phone signal.

So much noise!

Cannon, Andrew - 01/07/2022

Area was great, campsite was great, toilets and shower worked well and were clean. However, when we checked in we were told the one thing they were strict about was no noise after 11pm. Sadly, this was not enforced and the fact that groups were allowed just made this worse. There were people driving around and still drinking and shouting at 1am on the Friday. The same was happening on Saturday, we were only saved by a sudden thunderstorm at about midnight which sent people to bed. After a full days mountain climbing I was looking forward to a decent night sleep! No point telling people you are strict with the rules when in fact you really aren’t.

We just spent two nights at Church Stile Campsite in one of the gorgeous heated pods. The heater makes the pod suppppeeerr cozy should the weather turn, and when the sun is out you have your own picnic table to relax on. You can park your car right by the pod and take advantage of the four double electric sockets inside. This was very useful, as we are dog photographers by profession, up there for some photo shoots by Wast Water and had a lot of photography gear to charge. The staff were really warm and kind and kept the facilities squeaky clean. The proximity to the beautiful Wastwater makes this campsite a go-to you must try!

We've started 3 years ago, visiting this place 2-3 times per summer season and never will get bored. Great staff, clean facilities . Just toilet and shower new entering code device bothered me this year (bad memory doesn't help if you're in rush 😂😂😂) The best thing about this place is that there are plenty of great places with beautiful views where you can walk with no need of driving. Will be returning definitely. 😍😍😍 Feels like home.
