My first time at Castle Cary Holiday Park, but it won't be my last. The facilities are great, the toilet block / shower rooms were spotless, the hot water was hot. The onsite cafe serves great food at decent prices, there's a small shop as well as a small arcade and indoor swimming pool. If you want to eat out at The Laird's Inn you need to book online, as it can get busy,, but their site is easy to use. As we are into the colder weather, the site wasn't too busy, which was perfect as I was there to get the telescope and camera in action with the clear night skies. It definitely didn't disappoint, with clear skies during the days and nights, so T managed to get some shots of the Milkyway and C12 (The Firework Galaxy) at night and the sun during the day.

The place is simply stunning, the scenery, the walk it's like your in the middle of a beautiful forest, surrounded by the wildlife. Even saw a few deer whilst there, an abundance of rabbits and not forgetting the donkeys. Great facilities on site from swimming to eating in the cafe. The staff are welcoming and can't do enough for you. It's well worth the money. Definitely get what you pay for. Added bonus is having the restaurant on site and being able to sit and relax whilst watching the kids play.IV visited a few places but this one stole my heart and now it's the only place I'll be visiting

It was low season so quiet but facilities and services maintained well and clean. It was our 5th time here and second one week trip here this year in motorhome Motorhome has fully serviced pitch , great walks with dog around grounds and the dog friendly Lairds Inn on site was handy and provides great food at reasonable prices Area is excellent for facilities , cycling and sightseeing in gallowwy forest park. easy to see castles, gardens , wildlife and experience cultural sites within 30 mike radius Creetown walk is good Highly recommended for holiday Plan to return

Lovely big site with lots of space. Handy pub on site!

I was informed that I could book in at from 1 o'clock but when I arrived at on a Sunday 12. 45 was told that reception was closing at at 1 o'clock. The grass electric hook up pitches are at the furthest point from reception with poor signage. Grass pitches are not level. One small playpark for children on a site that holds over 200 static homes. The cafe and shop were closed during our stay. Overall not a great site and I wouldn't recommended it.

This is our second visit this year. The site is clean and very tidy. The toilets and the showers are first class. Full service pitches make life easy. They have a very good cafe that does takeaways. The indoor pool is a real bonus ( small charge to keep it clean and heated) the staff are the most helpful we have come across. A real bonus for us is the restaurant by the castle. Very good food and at a price you can eat each day and relax after enjoying a drink. This is a good site to stay at and we are looking forward to our next visit.

Have been over the years and really liked the park sadly it has went down hill the toilets weren't cleaned all weekend they were disgusting shop pool and games room were shut Sunday Monday for cleaning but there were no signs to tell u this so couldnt even use laundry room because couldn't get tokens staff are very nice and friendly they sent someone to shop so I could get tokens but no fresh bread or milk wouldn't mind so much but they are still taking high season prices and yet could use the facilities was very disappointed because I been the past 4 years and had fell in love with the place but sorry won't be back

I visited the site last summer for an afternoon while my brother & family were there camping and they talked me into trying camping this year.I hadn't camped since I was in the guides about 40 years ago, so I wasn't 100% looking forward to it.The shower block facilities are amazing. We were lucky to have largely dry weather and made use of the park area to play rounders and spent sometime in both the indoor and outdoor pool.We had a few drinks in the on-site bar, which offers meals, but we didn't eat there.I've been bitten by the camping bug, so I guess we'll be back next year. We have spent many holidays at castle Cary and love it, I understand that after the bank holiday the site was quite but it would have been nice to still be able to use the outdoor pool, it was a bit of a come down when the pub was shut and the games room and shop closed early, we normally visit for Easter and August bank holiday but maybe next year we might drop August and come earlier in the season
