We stayed in a 3 bed superior home and we were very disappointed to discover that the whole caravan had a very strong smell of dog. I had not realised that we would be allocated a dog friendly caravan, had I known I wouldn't have booked. We attempted to get rid of the smell with air fresheners but it was deeply embedded into the carpet, if you ran your hands through it, you would bring up a lot of dog hair. We did not bother to report to reception as we knew the park and all other accomodation in the area was full for the Easter holidays, we were only staying 4 nights and we had planned to be out of the caravan most of the time. The grounds are tired and slightly unkempt. My daughter was disappointed with the playpark as it was tiny. The children loved the swimming pool although it was difficult to get them changed in the very small changing areas with little privacy. We had very little interaction with the staff but they seemed friendly enough. We just came away feeling deflat
The lodge we stayed in was very nice however the photographs of the twin bedrooms were a little deceiving. They were only slightly bigger than the types of beds you get in caravans. The kitchen was lovely however there wasn’t all the utensils you would expect. There wasn’t a potato peeler cheese grater, adequate saucepans, or dishes to cook a roast dinner for example. There were just six items of crockery so every time you had a drink you needed to wash up. Just a safety point, the water in the hot taps was extremely hot. My mum burnt her hand when putting it under the hot tap not realising it was so hot. There were no warnings on basins. I informed the reception of this and was told they would turn it down but this wasn’t done. The hot tub was lovely and warm. Shower in one of the bathrooms was lovely but the ensuite bath did not have any handrails on the bath and the fixed shower glass made reaching the taps awkward when running a bath. The sofas only seated 4 people.
The facilities were excellent. Food, entertainment and the staff in the clubhouse were brilliant. Great location, not far from Cheddar and Glastronbury.
Friendly staff, lovely food in the bar, kids enjoyed the playground and swimming pool
We stayed here on a hard standing touring pitch which looks nothing like the pictures, was just gravel over mud unlike the pictures! I know it was wet at the time but there was no drainage etc so all water just ran downhill into awning There apears to be 2 seperate sides to this site, 1 which is refurbished and the other side which needs a lot of work! The washrooms wanted a good clean, the ones on the grove were supposedly under refurbishment but no work was being carried out. You couldn’t use the gents showers as no hooks or anything to put clothes on except the floor ! If the facilities were upgraded and the touring side was brought up to the standard of the pics etc it would be a good site
Sally and Gary run a lovely site it’s clean, showers are hot all the staff are wonderful kind and very helpful Daughter had a great time in the park and the pool we also enjoyed cheddar gorge and Wookey hole highly recommend We will definitely be going back regularly.
When we arrived at the pitch it was not in a good state, we had friends on a superior pitch where there were spaces, they went to the office and asked if we could upgrade we would have paid the difference, they were told no the pitches were all fully booked for our stay. This was not true there was at least one superior pitch vacant for the whole time we were there. They just could not be bothered to re arrange things for us to move. The pitch we were given was appauling and was covered with mud that had washed down from the camping field above. The toilets had signs on saying they were being refurbished which meant that they had removed all the fittings from the showers so there was no where to hang clothes or towels etc. the showers were mouldy and unclean, as were the toilets. At over £37 a night this is appuling.
Everything about the campsite was excellent. The only thing I would do differently if I returned would be to book a caravan that didn't allow dogs because there was a strong doggy smell in my caravan.
We really enjoyed our stay in the luxury hot tub holiday home. It was clean and provided everything we needed to stay for a week as international guests. What impressed me the most was the top quality staff. They had fantastic communication leading up to our stay, and went above and beyond when we were there. They provided entertainment every evening and the whole of Easter weekend. My children (3, 5 and 7) loved it. It’s a very comfortable, friendly place and they’ve thought of all the little touches (well stocked shop, laundry facilities and great food) to keep everyone happy. The pool despite being small was warm and clean and my kids happily played in it for 1-2 hours everyday. I highly recommend staying at bucklegrove campground and we will be back!
Arrived and the weather was terrible. But that was the only downfall. Facilities excellent and staff were kind throughout. Lodge grill is great and the food is amazing and good prices drinks are great price too. Owners put every effort in to entertain the kids before main entertainment starts. Views are amazing of the countryside aswell.
