Lovely hot shower and bathroom facilities. Spacious pod with heating and a kettle. Mattresses not perfect but good value for the money. Pub across the road ideal for dinner drinks and a packed lunch for the next day. So a great find for our Dales Way adventure!
Had stayed in a tent previously, so knew the campsite and its facilities. As it is still early in the year, decided to try a pod and was very satisfied with it. The heater is a bonus! The less said about the weather and the fishing, the better. But, overall, a great place to stay.
It was a great location for various walks in the area, and a lovely spot to camp and sit outside under the stars. Although quiet small, the facilities are very clean and had everything we needed, with a toilet, shower and washing up spots, as well as access to a fridge and freezer in the outhouse. We stayed in the glamping pods, and these were fantastic to host our birthday with our family. The pods are spacious inside, and come with heating, a kettle, table and chairs, and electric ports to charge devices. The beds are firm and were actually very comfortable! The owners were very accommodating and very responsive to any questions we had before our stay. The pub across the road, called 'the Bucken Inn', was great too, with lovely staff and amazing food! Thank you for an amazing stay. Would highly recommend!
Lovely site and excellent facilities, nice and friendly owners had a wonderful stay
Camping Pods good, big improvement would be a microwave oven for heating up precooked food as cooking outdoors in Storm Dave VERY challenging.
Lovely site catering for all, children friendly, great location with views over the valley. Pod was clean and well equipped.
This is our second stay in Buckden with Buckden camping, the first in our tent in the camping field and this time in the pods behind the farm house. Our pod was warm on arrival, clean with water in the kettle for that first cuppa after we unpacked. The toilet, shower and washing up area are all close to hand and clean and we were able to settle into our break quickly. The bed/benches were comfortable to sleep on and the little fridge was great. The area is beautiful and so dark at night. Unfortunately the local pub was closed but we ate out at the next village and were able to join in on a quiz night at the local village institute - check out their noticeboard, to the left of the pub. We really enjoyed walking and just chilling in our comfy pod - and as it rained all day on our departure we were pleased to not have to pack up a wet tent.
We've stayed here before and would come back again and again. The location at the foot of the Pike, with beautiful views across the valleys is sublime. It's also between two lovely pubs; the George at Hubberholme and the Fox at Starbotton, both within a 45 minute walk, both serving great food and both dog-friendly. The pods are simply but thoughtfully equipped, with places to hang your stuff and under bed storage. Comfortable sleeping platform with loads of room. The heater keeps it cosy even in the cooler season. The toilet and shower facilities are spotless. The shower is one of the best I have experienced in a campsite. We are always made welcome and feel relaxed as soon as we arrive. Can't recommend enough.
Lovely little campsite with well equipped pods.
Flexible arrival time (parking up before pitching up later) was very handy. Information around camp was all clear & easy to find the well-equipped, clean facilities. I didn’t actually meet the owners during my stay but I communicated by text with Gill which worked fine. Sometimes campsites have owners who are too “in your face” rather than just letting you crack on, so I liked that a lot. Wheelbarrows are a lovely touch. No complaints with facilities (great campsite shower!)
