We camped with 28 other families as part of a year 6 leavers treat for the children. Everyone had a great time. The children loved being able to pop along to the stream and have a splash around. The only thing I would say is that the toilets and shower blacks weren’t the best. The toilets only flushed with a trickle and there were no toilet brushes or mops around so things were a little bit dirty after the morning bathroom rush. They were spaced well around the site though. The staff were really friendly and rest of the site was very clean and tidy.
The staff helped us to be closer together, the location was great and it was great that the walk into Llangollen is mostly off the road.It was such a hot weekend my dog was really happy to paddle in the stream. We ate at the Bistro, it was lovely.
Stayed in a mega pod, I wasn't sure what to expect. The bed area is the bench with the table dropped and bench cushions laid on it. The cushions were not comfortable to sleep on, but we took air mattresses to use. A double inflatable mattress is too big in this space as it is the size of a junior double. We used a camping cot as the space for the third person to sleep. The fridge was small but had enough room for a weekend stay. Also had a small amount of cupboard space, microwave and kettle.Would have benefitted from hooks to hang coats.Easy friendly check in, basic food available on site which was good quality from either the small shop or takeaway from the bistro. Bistro is small so you may need to book if you eat there. On site vending machine for milkshakes was good.Only three showers and three toilets for women near the pods but there was no waiting the weekend we were there. The showers can get very hot.Beautiful abbey ruins on the site and really good locat
The pitches we stayed on were a good size, there was adequate facilities in each area. The walk into Llandudno was safe and well signposted. The staff were helpful. It was good for families.
My husband and I come every year to Abbey Farm. It is convenient for Llangollen and there is normally plenty going on. Best of all, the bistro is very handy and saves us driving if we’ve had a drink. This year, it was shut for most of the week and we missed the atmosphere it brings to the place and the benefits of a bar and restaurant on the doorstep. We won’t come again, unless the bistro opens every day.
Such a great sight, stayed on grass pitch no electric, absolute peace next to the stream our toddler paddled in, sight a facilities all great, and a nice walk into town! We will be back for sure! Thank you
We had an excellent time never stayed in a pod before would definitely do it again. So much easier that putting a tent up. All staff were lovely the facilities were what we expected. The area is beautiful. Definitely be back soon
Lovely views surrounding abbey farm. Short trip in to the town centre with some lovely quirky shops. Lovely walk along the river. Definitely worth a visit to horseshoe waterfalls, ideal place for a picnic.
The price is high compared to many luxury cottages, and it’s not luxury. The hot tub is lovely and the addition of outside chairs is a bonus. But from there on it is not luxury. There was not even any soap in the bathroom. We had no large towels, just three hand towels (there were three of us booked in). The shower is very disappointing. In most higher priced cottages there is at least a sample of coffee/ tea, sugar etc in case you’ve forgotten anything. On the plus side, it is convenient and v close to the bistro which serves great food at a good price.
The campsite its self is lovely, specially the grass side where the stream/river is! But the toilets and shower blocks need some serious attention. Toilets and showers just weren’t clean. Toilet blocks had flooded! Showers weren’t clean and the water didn’t drain out of the shower basin and brought up all the debris from the pipes!!
