Non electric pitch

Smith, Haylie - 07/06/2024

We stayed on the smaller field next to the stream. It was peaceful there. The pitch was clean and tidy. The toilets and shower block were mostly clean and toilet roll was replenished a few times a day. I may suggest during busier times to check levels a little more often as we did find people aren't very tidy and used a lot of the toilet roll leaving barely any or none for anyone else. Staff are friendly. It's a shame you can no longer enter the abbey but I know that's not to do with abbey farm but cadw. We are returning customers having stayed a few times now and we look forward to coming for another stay soon.

What a beautiful.site, only let down by the dirty toilet and shower facilities. Bin completely overflowing. Beautiful location, site needs improvement.

Ellis, Chris - 05/06/2024

Staff were friendly, smooth booking, beautiful location with the stream at the back of the site and stunning surrounding hills. We stayed for a week and the rubbish bins were overflowing the whole time. The facilities were not very clean and the chemical waste overflowed twice during the week. Lovely bar and restaurant on site. Fresh milk and milkshake vending machines which we loved. I am sad to say that I am unsure if we will return unless improvements are made.

Arrived to abby farm on the Monday to stay until the Thursday, I came on a good review from a friend. First of all where we was placed in our tent was fine until it arrived to night time it was noisy and children / teenagers where running around our tent from aa late as 12.30 at night there was screaming and shouting. We have 2 young children who just wanted to sleep and I found it unbearable. The toilets were poor toilet roll stuck all over the floor and what I assume was wee as the smell was awful. My partner went to the men's toilets in the morning 1 being blocked and the other with dirty mess in it from someone going the toilet , that mess was still there in the evening. During my stay I could only face to get a shower once as I found the conditions disgusting as I had someone else's dirty shower water come over to my cubicle. In the end we decided to leave on the Wednesday as the conditions where just awful and I would not recommend this site to anyone and I will not retur

Gorgeous location - facilities were lacking.

Arkell, Ashley - 03/06/2024

Abbey farm is set in a wonderful location. We went on tons of walks! The children in our group loved the stream and rope swing! The downside - We felt that the campsite hosted too many people and the toilet/showering facilities didn't cater for everyone. It was very cramped. The toilets weren't cleaned regularly (toilet paper on muddy floors regularly) and the showers flooded and weren't nice. There is also a no fire 🔥 rule. And while we adhered to it lots of people had fires!

Excellent

Holmes, Pauline - 02/06/2024

We had a lovely stay at the Abbey campsite. We have stayed here before and would definitely stay again. The only down side was that the site was really busy with it being half term which wasn't a problem it was just that there wasn't enough toilet roll in the blocks as they kept running out and the cleaning needed to be done more often. On another campsite we stay in a bucket and mop are left with water in and a notice up encouraging people , to use it to mop the floor after they shower, this keeps the area cleaner. Maybe an idea to look at for the future. We where at the back of the Abbey and a lot of teenagers where getting into this area and running around it at night, maybe a warden could check this area at night to make sure it is safe. These comments would not stop use from returning to the site as it is in a beautiful spot, the staff are really helpful, the bistro has lovely food and outdoor space. The pitches are well maintained and a good size.
