Loved this place for years!

Welsh, Kate - 16/05/2022

I’ve been coming here for around 16 years. In that time I’ve moved to the town and had a family. But I still find this place magical and now, so do my kids. One of the most beautiful settings for a campsite, that’s improved so much over the years. The bistro and the milk station are definitely a wow factor. The thing my kids love most is playing in the river at the bottom of the site. So relaxing and back to basics, a welcome break from the iPads and phones. But if they do want to go on their devices, the reception for O2 4G is pretty good. Thoroughly recommend and we will be back very soon!

Fantastic location and well spaced out pitches

Holliday, Andy - 13/05/2022

Positives- Great site with friendly staff. The location was great with a 45 minute walk along along canal path to Llangollen. The toilet blocks were good and we always found toilet paper there. The showers had a great pressure but we're not very warm, some of the other people we stayed with were unable to get a warm shower at all. The non electric field was very big and people were left to sort their own spaces out which suited us perfectly.Negatives- The dish washing facilities were good but there was no hot or even warm water which was a little disappointing. We would definitely go back and explore the area again, overall the campsite was great value for money

May Bank Holiday stay, 4 nights

Parrett, Nigel - 07/05/2022

In the small camping field, dangerous pitching (so close guy ropes overlapped our caravan!). Family with us in tent, same problem, a tent pitched and interlaced guy ropes. A fire would be horrendous. I'm surprised the site's licence isn't revoked. Toilets got very messy, cleaned quite promptly, but men's side had no hot water one morning. Had a freezing cold shower! Need more sanitary blocks.

First impressions were good

Jamieson, Colette - 06/05/2022

The toilet and shower block were not what I expected. In the shower there was nowhere to put your belongings (although there was a bench outside the shower). The toilets did not flush properly.

Lovely location

Finbow, Rebecca - 05/05/2022

Love the location and surroundings, camping was on well maintained field. Sadly the toilets and washing facilities let it down, 2 of 3 were blocked in one block and one in the other, for nearly 24hours and didn’t appear that they were checked by staff regularly enough. This could be improved by having a board to say when last checked, and checked 3xper day. The shower facilities were also not adequate for number of people camping, and water was cold. Lastly, we love the stream for the kids but the dumped materials on the other side of the bridge attracts the children to take bits and put them in the stream, there were nails etc exposed and this could be dangerous. It could be an idea to fence off the scrapped wood to discourage this and make the area look more pleasant. We hope to come back as love the location, but these few things could be improved. Staff were helpful.

Great couple of days

Oakes, Carole - 29/04/2022

We enjoyed our stay at Abbey Farm for a couple of days. One of the reasons we chose it was the availability of food on site and we weren’t disappointed at all. We ate at the bistro several times and found the food to be excellent quality, very good value and the friendliness of staff was brilliant. Walks from the site were really good with lovely views and refreshment stops along the way. We even walked up to the castle which was quite a feat- extremely steep but well worth it for the breathtaking views. The toilets and showers are definitely looking a little tired but were cleaned frequently and were adequate. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we’ll be returning.
