After arriving to our pitch at 1pm and realising how wet the grass was we expressed concern that our van would not be able to get onto or off the grass pitch which we only booked because that was all that was available when booking three months in advance. We walked up to reception no one was there, we called the mobile number no one answered so we left a message but no one called back so we ended up discussing options with the cleaner. After two hours we finally met the owners who told us we would have to go on the grass even though we expressed our concerns. As we predicted we tried to reverse onto the pitch and got stuck blocking the road. Another 45 minutes passed when the disgruntled man came and said he's have to get a tractor to pull us off. Another 30 minutes wait the tractor arrived to pull us back of the pitch back onto the road. When he said there was no pitches available and over three hours of standing around freezing cold we suggested we get a refund but they said NO
Loved our stay on New Years Eve. Pod was immaculate and very comfortable and warm. Showers/toilet facilities were good and very clean. Would definitely book again!
House was lovely, clean and spacious and in a great location. Nice walks surrounding it. We were 4 families with children from ages 6 - 12years and we went to welcome in the new year. The room set up's worked perfectly for us all. Only improvements we could recommend is the playroom door kept letting in water in from outside so the floor was always wet and cold, there wasn't enough cutlery for us all and the bedroom for 3 (without ensuite) could do with a mirror in it. That being said a great time was had by all and we're looking to return again.
We booked 5 nights to stay over the new year. There were no hard standing pitches for the 5 nights so had to book the field. Although when we arrived on the 27th there was only one pitch being used - most had booked two nights ie 30th/31st.First day on the field we got stuck in the mud - but staff were very helpful and pulled us off with the tractor. We had to park between the shower block and the recycle block which wasn't ideal but but better than getting stuck in rhe mud. The shower block that we were next too was closed and there was no water available- because normally this was opened for the camping season - which meant a walk up to the other shower block for water etc. So a bit disappointed in that - you could empty your waste and cassette but again no water to rinse it out. Had to walk/drive up the the main area to do these tasks.Having said that it's a lovely location very peaceful and we will return - but probably not out of season.
I have to say I'm a little disappointed, I've been coming here for a few years now and it's starting to look dated. The family washroom has been out of order for 18 months, the lock on the pod to get in didn't work and could also lead to someone locking you in if they were so minded. The lock to keep the doors shut once in was also difficult to close as there is no handle inside to pull the door to to be able to slide the bolt. Which did lead to the door not being shut properly in the night and the dog escaping! The light above the washing up area was also broken. For me it's about the location, it's perfect for me for hiking in the hills surrounding Llangollen and it's great that I can bring the dogs. I will be back as these things don't put me off, however others may not be so forgiving.
Lovely accommodations and wonderful food in the bistro
House is fantastic, BBQ Hut is a massive highlight along with the Hot Tub...plenty of walks in surrounding area and only 5 mins into Llangollen Town Centre. On-Site Pub and Restaurant lovely and staff really friendly and helpful. Heard rumours house could be cold via other Reviews but could not disagree enough, all rooms lovely and warm and we went in the Winter. Only things I would point as not a negative but maybe could be better was, On-Site Shop closed for most of the 4 days we were there, luckily we brought a lot of own stuff and ALDI 5-8 mins away but it would have been handy to grab some bits rather than having to always pop out...Fire Place is not working and we were looking forward to that, hopefully that can be sorted by the Spring and front door a little stiff but again easily sorted which we reported....overall The Farmhouse was lovely and site very well maintained...would definately go back and recommend to Family & Friends
I celebrated my 50th here with 5 friends it was amazing so clean and tidy and unbelievably quite I enjoyed every part of my stay.If I had to point out anything that I think could be improved upon to make the stay even better would but to have a full length mirror for us girls and think about lowering the mirror the the bunk bed room I had to go on tiptoes to do my makeup, final think hooks on doors to hang coats and house coat too.But everything else about this place was fantastic the bistro Nextdoor was great to start the day with a full English breakfast great quality food.
Perfect Christmas getaway in the Christmas pod Warm. Cosy and everything you need Projector was a great hit Only down side I’d put 4g didn’t works so couldn’t get WiFi at all
This is our 4th time at Abbey farm. We had a lovely time again. Great cottage with a lovely hot tub .The cottage was very clean. We ate in the bistro for some evening meals and breakfast the food was good .The staff are all so lovely and welcoming.
