I recently spent three nights at Herdiung Hill in my new campervan. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities were fabulous - clean and all in good order. I used the site as a base for two days walking on Hadrians Wall. The 'Wall Bus' stops at the gate which is very convenient. I also used the train and taxis to complete 18 miles walking over two days.I'll be back!!
Such a wonderful scenic and secluded site. Right from the warm welcome, to the beautiful animals on site, the walks from the doorstep, everything was wonderful. I stayed in one of the heated pods and it was warm and cozy. The facilities were wonderful and I particularly appreciated being able to run a bath in the on-site amenities block. This was a completely unexpected bonus and so very welcome after a day of hiking! Incredible views and sunsets. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent site and facilities. Great location for visiting Hadrians Wall.
This was our first time at Herding Hill Site, we had no idea what our stay would be like. Our stay was everything we wished for and more. Staying in a idyllic place, with a beautiful equip pod, with everything we needed and extremely clean. All the staff were very helpful and personable.Although the weather was poor, this did not stop us using our private hot tub and enjoying the superb view. The Milecastle inn (0.5 miles from Herding Hill) was great, with a warm welcome, fantastic service and delicious food. The surrounding area is full of places to visit, we enjoyed spending time in Haltwhistle and House Steads. Within a week of returning home, we have booked for another stay at Herding Hill.
Excellent facilities perfect for a chilled family break staff are really friendly lovely setting in countryside perfect for star gazing
We were allocated near the barrier, too much traffic coming and going until late at night. People giving out the code to the barrier when people asking for it,for us made the site unsecure.Cannot fault the cleanliness or location
Herding Hill is a lovely place to stay whatever the weather and whatever the time of year. It’s beautiful and restful and not too far from home. The walk down Haltwistle Burn into the town is magical especially in autumn. The AD122 bus along Hadrian’s wall is very useful as it stops right outside the campsite. Bus out and walk back via the Milecastle Inn.
We had a great stay at hearding hill farm, we celebrated our daughter’s 9th birthday with a hot tub.The hot tub was checked every day by the staff and upon arrival on the Friday our pod was decorated great for the birthday girl. The only issue we had was upon arrival I had to clean our pod as it still had dog hairs in from previous guests. We have a dog who is hypoallergenic so he doesn’t moult.Other than that it was a great stay.
Everything a touring caravan couple need. Great facilities great wardens and lovely animals. Especially coco the donkey. Will be back next year. Thanks again.
We had the most wonderful 11 days staying at Herding Hill Farn. Although it feels like a wild place set in the Northumberland Hills it's actually only a mile or so from the little town of Haltwhistle. With a great collection of animals: alpacas, pigs, goats, a Shetland Pony and a donkey, this is a 5 star campsite. Good, spotless facilities and extrenely friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay again
