We needed a one night stop over before the ferry home. Booked via the website which gave full details as to entry codes and pitch number. Good hard pitches with EHU and easy access into the city if required as few local restaurants etc. Amenity block was limited given the number of pitches with potential for queues for showers at busy times. Overall it suited our needs perfectly.
Well located for central Belfast and all the attractions Local bus went past the top of the road but chose to walk a 1/2 mike to catch the much quicker ‘Glider’ bus which went straight into central BelfastNot the easiest site to book on. Online only - which was ok- however we were on a circular tour of NI and the IT system wasn’t coping with our return booking without phoning up and speaking to someone. Couldn't get an answer from the mobile numbers given, so eventually had to contact what was the Dundonald ice rink reception(?!)The site has a ‘do it yourself’ entry system which is ok and a warden + office (closed when we were there) tho briefly saw a guy maintaining the grass. Was a somewhat concerned re this lack of general contactability in case of emergency The facilities on the site were ok but basic. Could do with a designated walkway to these facilities, as despite notices asking otherwise, most people walked across the pitches to get to the amenities.
Clean, tidy site with all the necessary facilities, though only a small number of toilets and showers, all gender neutral. Ideal location for the Belfast ferry post. (Note to other users: maybe avoid pitch 19 - it's on a direct pedestrian route to the recycling bins and the facilities building for other campers, who will walk right past your van windows to the front and sides, rather than sticking to the path.)
Picked this site as handy for Belfast. Good pitches but that’s the only positive about this site. When we arrived my pitch was occupied and not vacated until 6pm when the ‘other’ people arrived to move their van! The facilities were filthy and not fit for purpose and I pointed this out to the on site warden when he arrived to try and sort out our pitch! I did ask to be compensated but he rolled his eyes!! The washing up area is shocking and not been cleaned in a long time. Will not be back! Wish I’d taken photos!
The site was busy pitches are close together Dog on pitch next door on extendable lead could reach out campervan3 communal toilets and showers for the whole site .keypad entry to toilets and showers ..No warden on site so couldn't speak to anybody We actually never set up we left the site and went elsewhere due to the dog next door
Lovely camp site. Very secure & hidden away from the main road. Excellent transport links to Belfast City Centre. Showers were free to use. Toilet block was ok - could have been a wee bit cleaner. Good kitchen facilities. Had good picnic tablets outside. Would defo stay again.
Good facilities. Clean.Easily accessible from main road.
We asked to enter the Park two hours earlier than 2 pm.It was very complicated to get someone on the phone. After waiting a long time a friendly man came from the bowling center and opened the gate for us. The Park is very loud because of the street, showers and toilets were dirty. The only advantage here was the proximity to public transport.
An excellent campsite to use as a base to visit Belfast. We stayed 3 nights and caught the bus into Belfast on two of the days. We also went to the cinema next to the site on our first night. There are several places to eat by the cinema. The campsite is not too large and nicely laid out with EHU and water on every concrete pitch. Although it is adjacent to the main road it is fairly quiet because it is below the road level and shielded with trees. It is very secure with serious entry gates operated by keypad code. The washblock was clean, with very nice showers and a small kitchen including washing machine. We never actually saw the warden although I noticed the office was open on our last morning.
On arriving we had difficulty locating the site The site was claen and tidy but we felt that the facilities were very tired
