For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

A perfect site and only half an hour from home. Love the setting and walks. Very well kept, clean and super welcome from the owners. Superb restaurant on site. We’ll be backThank you
Great location, friendly staff, facilities lovely and clean, Knights table lovely food and great service
Lovely site in a beautiful setting. Stainforth Foss is gorgeous. Lovely walks and very peaceful. Added bonus of a cafe/restaurant/bar. Immaculate amenities. All staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
Had a lovely weekend stay at Knight Stainforth hall. The location is just perfect. In the doorstep to all the beautiful hiking locations and close to Settle for shops/tea rooms etc. The park is very well maintained and the shower block is very clean and cosy. Love the history of the place on the walls oh and the shower music of the dales radio. The restaurant was lovely had a delicious pizza, we checked in late so 10 mins before last food order and the owner of the site was so friendly when we checked in and I asked him if I could order a pizza just before kitchen closed and it was no trouble. Didn’t get back from pitching up until 8.20pm and pizza was then popped in for me so I was very happy. The pub/bar is lovely and does brunch lunch and dinner. Looks like building a new shop/reception for next year. We will definitely be back in the spring!!
Good sized pitch for our large twin axle caravan. Facilities were clean and warm.Nice walks and secure dog walk.Staff very helpful.Only negative is the barrow road. This is fine out of season but can see problems when busy. We have a 8m long caravan, and no problem fir my husband to manoeuvre and back up. However we gave experienced other drivers that are not capable of reversing. Therefore we would probably not return during very busy times such as school holidays.
The site is in a beautiful location. The staff are very friendly and's helpful. We were in a motorhome. Plot was ideal with EHU and tap. Waste drop easily accessible. Facilities were very clean. Only downside was the shower rooms weren’t very warm and the showers only luke warm with not much power to the water flow. Was a little strange as the taps in the toilets and wash up were very hot. Had a meal in Knights Table which was excellent. The river walk from the site into Settle was very nice but a little muddy at this time of year. Was great to see the salmon leap. Will definitely be back next year.
I paid for my booking in full for 3 nights. The week before my son was involved in a serious car accident, therefore I rang 3 days before to try and change the booking days to a few months in the future. I was informed that they don’t do refunds (that’s not what I asked for). I was then told someone would call me back, I rang back after no one called and was again told someone would call me back as they had to speak to the boss.I’ve still not had a callback. I just wanted to try and change dates but don’t feel I have been dealt with fairly. A lack of communication, compassion and professionalism has led me to leave a negative feedback.
We always have the most wonderful time when we stay at Knight Stainforth Hall Caravan & Camping park. The pitches are lovely & wide with water & electricity points close at hand. The toilets & showers building are warm, clean & spacious. There is also washing machines; iron & pot washing facilities within the building. The food at the restaurant is always hot, delicious & plentiful with a good price tag attached to it - meals are certainly value for money. The menu is varied to suit all tastes. All the staff who work on the site and in the restaurant are helpful & friendly at all times. The site is close to the river, which offers long walks along it or to venture down to bathe/swim or just to sit by the river (we take breakfast to eat on the stones whilst the water is bubbling by). The site is a credit to the owners who cannot do enough to keep the site clean, tidy and well maintained. They also are the most friendly and helpful people that we have had the pleasure to meet.
Loved this site, beautiful views and helpful staff. The onsite restaurant was amazing. We were in a fifth wheel and the pitches were large and we were welcomed.
Well what can I say, great site, food and had the bonus of seeing salmon jumping up the falls. Will be there the same time next year.
