Woodland Caravan Park is a serene getaway nestled in 10 acres of natural woodland within the Snelston Hall Estate. Catering exclusively to adults aged 18 and above, this park provides a peaceful retreat for discerning guests seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday amidst nature's embrace.
As the name suggests, the park offers a woodland setting where all pitches are strategically placed among the trees. While this guarantees a tranquil atmosphere, it also means that pitches may not be bathed in sunlight throughout the day, adding to the rustic charm of the experience.
Conveniently located just 2 miles south of the picturesque market town of Ashbourne, Woodland Caravan Park is within easy reach of numerous cultural and outdoor activities. Proximity to the stunning Peak District makes this park an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts, offering convenient access to the area's natural beauty and attractions.
Accommodating a total of 50 well-placed hard standing pitches suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes, and trailer tents/folding campers, this park ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay amidst the woodland ambiance.
** Unfortunately, tents are not accepted. **
Facilities at Woodland Caravan Park are designed to enhance guest’s holiday experience. Modern heated toilet and shower facilities are meticulously maintained for cleanliness, with free showers, hairdryers in the ladies' washroom, and electric shaver points in the gent's washroom provided for convenience. Additionally, a modern accessible disabled toilet and shower room cater to guests with specific needs.
Laundry facilities include a washing machine and tumble dryer (charges apply), along with an iron and ironing board for added convenience. Guests can also utilise a microwave oven and enjoy a book exchange service during their stay. For outdoor enthusiasts, a secure one-acre dog exercise area is provided, complete with shaded spots, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for your four-legged friends.
One of the highlights of staying at this park is the opportunity to connect with nature and observe diverse wildlife. From squirrels and pheasants to various bird species, the park's natural setting offers a delightful spectacle for nature lovers. The changing seasons also bring out the beauty of the woodland, providing a unique experience throughout the year.
Beyond the park's boundaries, guests can explore the southern end of the Peak District and the charming town of Ashbourne, known as "The Gateway to the Peak District." The area boasts a wealth of attractions, including historic market towns, scenic trails for walking and cycling, and renowned stately homes such as Chatsworth House.
An onsite information point offers valuable insights into local attractions, walking routes, cycling trails, and dog-friendly destinations, ensuring that guests can plan memorable outings during their stay.

Best facilities we have experienced, well stocked and constantly checked for cleanliness, very friendly and helpful owners. Dog walking area was excellent with other walks around the area too. All set in beautiful surroundings.
Lovely clean site. Facilties kept spotless. Wardens very pleasant and helpful, called us by our first names. But closer to the road than we thought it would be but it was still lovely.
First visit here, won't be our last. A beautiful site. Loved the setting. Perfectly situated to explore the area. The site and facilities are spotless. The staff were so welcoming znd helpful. The pitch wax a good size, with plenty of room between pitches.
We had 3 nights as a short brake for the end of our season. A beautiful relaxing spot truly amongst nature, the pitch was large with hard gravel standing easy to set down, water point was close as well as waste point. The toilet facilities were really clean and maintained to highest quality, I particularly like how waste is handled by the site. We had a warm welcome at reception and was shown our pitch with full introduction to site, we had paid upfront so it was just settle in and enjoy, local stops were a drive away but had all we needed. If you are looking for a well run well maintained site in a quite woodland site you cannot go wrong staying here.
Lovely friendly, small site tucked away in a beautiful location. Helpful and friendly owners offering plenty of advice on local attractions, how to get there etc. Toilets and showers are kept spotlessly clean, with mats both inside and outside to wipe your shoes on, ensuring that the floor never gets muddy. The woodland setting is perfect if you don’t want to be exposed to too much sunshine, sitting outside in the shade, surrounded by pine trees is glorious, and very healthy!Would highly recommend.
Great site situated in a small Forrest area. Very well spaced out pitches and immaculate facilities. Owners really have managed the day to day stuff brilliantly and are really friendly. Can't wait to go back.
A wonderful site with exceptional facilities - shower & toilet blocks were spotless and the enclosed dog exercise area is so handy to have.Owners, Dave and Ruth, are wonderful hosts and make your stay really easy and relaxed. There are lots of incredibly beautiful areas to visit and walk around, and some good country pubs serving food, within close proximity to the site
On arrival was greeted by a very friendly woman who then took the time to explain absolutely everything about the site.Took round to my booked pitch by her husband and told electric hook up was pay what you use.. which is very little..They also offer a linked in where you can pay to keep tour caravan or trailer tent on site and return the following week. The dog walk area is a dream as they work on a system where if I you have a nervous dog you can flip the sign to let others know and they will wait until you have come out with your dog. I have a ex racing greyhound with no recall and as it's all fenced off felt no issues letting her off.As for the facilities they was absolutely immaculate and personal touches showed throughout. This is an adult only site and it shows with NO litter throughout the whole site. The owners should be very proud with what they have created.Already recommended to friends and can't wait to go back
