Woodland Caravan Park is a serene getaway nestled in 10 acres of natural woodland within the Snelston Hall Estate. Catering exclusively to adults aged 18 and above, this park provides a peaceful retreat for discerning guests seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday amidst nature's embrace.

As the name suggests, the park offers a woodland setting where all pitches are strategically placed among the trees. While this guarantees a tranquil atmosphere, it also means that pitches may not be bathed in sunlight throughout the day, adding to the rustic charm of the experience.

Conveniently located just 2 miles south of the picturesque market town of Ashbourne, Woodland Caravan Park is within easy reach of numerous cultural and outdoor activities. Proximity to the stunning Peak District makes this park an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts, offering convenient access to the area's natural beauty and attractions.

Accommodating a total of 50 well-placed hard standing pitches suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes, and trailer tents/folding campers, this park ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay amidst the woodland ambiance.

** Unfortunately, tents are not accepted. **

Facilities at Woodland Caravan Park are designed to enhance guest’s holiday experience. Modern heated toilet and shower facilities are meticulously maintained for cleanliness, with free showers, hairdryers in the ladies' washroom, and electric shaver points in the gent's washroom provided for convenience. Additionally, a modern accessible disabled toilet and shower room cater to guests with specific needs.

Laundry facilities include a washing machine and tumble dryer (charges apply), along with an iron and ironing board for added convenience. Guests can also utilise a microwave oven and enjoy a book exchange service during their stay. For outdoor enthusiasts, a secure one-acre dog exercise area is provided, complete with shaded spots, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for your four-legged friends.

One of the highlights of staying at this park is the opportunity to connect with nature and observe diverse wildlife. From squirrels and pheasants to various bird species, the park's natural setting offers a delightful spectacle for nature lovers. The changing seasons also bring out the beauty of the woodland, providing a unique experience throughout the year.

Beyond the park's boundaries, guests can explore the southern end of the Peak District and the charming town of Ashbourne, known as "The Gateway to the Peak District." The area boasts a wealth of attractions, including historic market towns, scenic trails for walking and cycling, and renowned stately homes such as Chatsworth House.

An onsite information point offers valuable insights into local attractions, walking routes, cycling trails, and dog-friendly destinations, ensuring that guests can plan memorable outings during their stay.

Great friendly team and spotless facilities

Ward, Suzanne - 18/04/2024

From the minute I arrived I was greeted with warm friendly staff, very welcoming, was shown to my pitch. The facilities were spotlessly clean and smelt lovely! There were lots of extras, nothing had been forgotten, from tissues to dishcloths!! The site is very well kept, each pitch is spacious and there is a good space between pitches. And, the dog exercise area was a great added bonus for my furry friend.Overall this site is excellent, there are shops nearby and plenty of pubs/restaurants. Go and enjoy it for yourselves, I will be re-booking.

Lovely quiet site with immaculately clean facilities

Edwards, Julie - 16/04/2024

This was our second stay (after a gap of 6 years) and it was even better than before. The woodland setting is quiet and well set-out with spacious pitches, all with water and electricity points very accessible. The bathrooms are immaculately clean and there is also a laundry and library area. The site is dog friendly and there is an enclosed dog exercise area on site. The new owners Ruth and Dave (and Luna the dog) are so welcoming and helpful. They sell some delicious looking treats in reception but we resisted on this occasion. We'll definitely be back (and will try out the cakes next time!) We have already recommended the site to friends.

Friendly welcome, quiet site

Revill, Sheona - 13/04/2024

Site was easy to find & good access. One of the nicest relaxed welcomes we've experienced & given lots of info. Pitches we're large & could park at any angle that suited us within our pitch. The facilities were spotless & clean my only issue was the fixed head on the shower which was at wrong angle, for woman of different heights could be awkward. We love to walk & cycle, tracks & paths down to Ashbourne were easy to follow but wouldn't advise walking down the main road route as its busy & verge not always safe to walk on. Nothing negative about this site & will only get better. Staff/owners are so lovely & helpful & being Adult Only site made our stay more peaceful & relaxing. Will be returning for another visit. Thank you for a lovely experience & peaceful stay

Peaceful, spotless and friendly.

Amazing campsite in a beautiful woodland setting. The facilities are warm and the cleanest I’ve come across in my 15 years of camping! Staff were lovely and friendly but also left you to enjoy your stay without bothering you. The secure dog walk is great and the added ability to let others know your dog isn’t friendly so you can have it to yourself is brilliant. The site is in a great location with lots of places to visit.

Lovely weekend retreat

Daniels, Mike & Lisa - 11/04/2024

Lovely little site nestled amongst the Pine trees. We had a very warm reception by Ruth and Dave the new owners who were very helpful and accommodating. Washroom facilities were absolutely spotless and so well maintained. Snelston itself was a beautiful small hamlet set in stunning landscape with some lovely walks. Only our second outing in our motorhome and we will definitely be back. Mike and Leza

Lovely relaxing stay. Spotlessly clean.

Hickman, Karen & Matthew - 10/04/2024

The site is spotless. The team are lovely and welcoming. Lovely big pitch. The gates are locked at night but you can access on foot which we did with no problem. The only thing I can think of to improve is automatic gates to save me getting out the car to open them 😂😂. Well done, keep it up, we will be back. 👍👍

What a fabulous site! Dave and Ruth were great, very friendly and most accomodating. The site is just the right size, and it being adult only is definitely a bonus. The amenities block is super clean as well as being well stocked with everything you could possibly want. As for the toilets, don't think I've seen such clean, well presented loos on a site! Have already booked to go again and will be booking further dates when we next visit..Keep up the fabulous work Dave & Ruth and we're looking to seeing you both soonMichaela & Paul Depear
