The accessible holiday vans are designed to provide wheelchair users and their families with safe, easy access in a relaxing and comfortable space. They have a full wet room with fold out seat and support handles. The vans have two twin bedrooms and sleep four. One of bedrooms has a portable helper frame. The cooker and sink are at a lower level and each van has a decking with ramp access. These vans are also better suited to those with mobility issues as there are no steps to negotiate and, as well as a wider external door, all the internal doors slide. The two wheelchair friendly vans are in the second row but also have a sea view! All vans are fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, linen and towels.

West Beach Caravan Park is on the site of the former train station and wagons at this time were used to transport the fish out of Hopeman. We've kept this theme and named the wagons Flukey, Guntac and Rock Coddie - the local names for some of the Moray Firth catch. All the wagons are the same, they just have different paint colours.

The West Beach Hutties - perfect for camping without a tent or as extra accommodation for your campervan.
The four Beach Hutties are basically wooden tents with mattresses, blinds, a ceiling light and a USB charger. By day they act as a seating area and by night they form a 3m x 2m sleeping area. The optional hook-up means you can use the Huttie as an extension to your campervan.
These are no frills, simple units and are located at the rear of the park. A fifth hut provides a Campers Kitchen with toaster, kettle, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwashing sinks.

We had an excellent visit and were impressed by the amenities and scenery. I never realised that there was so much in such a small village. Everything you need for a good caravan holiday. Just one small downside.
Great site in a great location, facilities very clean and staff were very nice and very helpful. All you need in one place, already tried to rebook but dates I needed were already booked up, will keep trying !We will be back.
I stayed in one of the Wagons for three nights having retired from teaching that day.I was looking for peace, solitude and scenery all of which I found at West Beach. The wagon was clean and comfortable and the noise level (none) was impressive given the central location on a busy site. The scenery on the coastal walks both ways is stunning and bootleggers, local chip shop and local takeaway provide food for those too lazy to cook. The staff, other than at point of occupation let you be, bar a handy tip pointing out a shorter recycling walk.Fantastic place which I'd gladly return to.
We love West Beach. I was disappointed by the new bathrooms at the end of the platform though. They look beautiful and have been well done. However, not having separate loos in that area meant a lot of waiting for one of the four facilities to be available which didn’t use to be the case. The push button showers only stay on for seconds at a time and the pressure is really variable from just a dribble to a pulsing amount of water to a slightly greater pressure and with that the temperature fluctuates too. There may be nothing that can be done, but it’s a disappointing upgrade.
We enjoyed our first visit to West Beach last week and it won’t be our last. The facilities are modern and clean, the scenery is stunning and everyone we met was very friendly, campers and staff. We enjoyed a walk to Burghead Bay and Cable Cafe…a beautiful view while having lovely coffee and scone. We also enjoyed food and a cocktail at Bootleggers. What’s not to like !
Staff were excellent including in the restaurant and bars. Site is spacious and well laid out with plenty of room for my twin axle motorhome. My only criticism is the meal we had was poor. Fries were like eating dry twigs and the batter on the fish could smash windows, which did put us off eating there again. I spoke to the manager at the time and informed her, and she said she would pass it on to the Chef.Washing and toilet facilities are well maintained and spotless.Later on, I spoke with other Campers who said the same about the fish and chips which really is a shame for the restaurant. It wouldn't put me off going there again as everything else was great, as were the site and bar staff.
Very nice campsite - it has its price - we paid for a 6 meter motorhome, 2 adults and 2 dogs and EHU, 210 GPB in total. Campsite is close to beach - very clean - nice restaurant.
As our first time staying at West Beach the one thing that stands out is the fantastic sea view it is breathtaking. We were pitched on Number SV02 that was an ideal location for Toilet facilities etc and of coarse the fantastic view as well.We had a fantastic weekend stay where we had walks and visited Bootleggers Bar a couple of times too.I have a few matters that I would like to highlight that we found during our stay.(1) The showers you have to keep pushing a button to operate i find this type to be old fashioned (2) We were travelling with our Motorhome and we sometimes take our car as well (not a towing car) when we travel but your rules don't allow a second vehicle to park on the pitch, but if you tow a car with your Motorhome you are allowed to park that vehicle on the pitch,I find this rule to be quite bazaar as other sites allow you to park an additional vehicle on their pitch.(3) A disused electricity post on the pitch should have been covered up to avoid confusi
Hi Ben Thank you for your feedback. The push-button showers are used in many locations and are designed to ensure that the user doesn't stay in the shower for extended periods as otherwise they aren't available for other users. Most caravan parks that permit a second vehicle will also charge for it. We have attempted to permit second vehicles in the past but unfortunately this doesn't work. Our ANPR system needs programmed with the registrations and the warden team were continually called to change registrations as a different friend had come to visit and their car became the second car. Also, as a family friendly park, the fewer vehicles the safer the park should be.The SV pitches were reconfigured to make them larger. This resulted in SV2 having two power points. One of which has indeed been turned off. We will ensure that this is communicated to guests in future to ensure it isn't an issue.
Have stayed at west beach a few times now.Our recent stay a couple of weeks ago was the best as we got the weather and also saw the dolphins just off shore. We will probably be back a few more times before the season ends
