Vale of Pickering Caravan Park

4.9 (294 reviews)

Since 1985, we have provided keen campers and outdoor enthusiasts with a well kept, family run and top quality caravan park. With its panoramic views, our site is generously planted with trees, shrubs, flower beds and hanging baskets. We can facilitate a wide range of camping and touring options including caravans, motorhomes, campervans, trailer tents and tents.

Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.

Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.

Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.

We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.

Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.

Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.

We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.

We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.

Friendly site with great facilities.

Stead, Kay - 30/04/2026

We often stay at Pickering Vale because it is close to Dalby Forest. We are members of Forestry England, and we can visit Dalby free of charge, as often as we like. We usually go during the week when the site is quieter, but even when full at the weekend it never seems rowdy or crowded. Pitches are invariably level and well maintained. The unisex bathrooms are exceptional. The field across the road is a great for exercising energetic dogs. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the small shop stocks all the basics. The cafe isn’t always open, but it is a good facillity to have and we often get a coffee there. Pickering Vale is our go-to site at the start of the season, or when we’ve just got a few days free and want a quick, relaxing break.

A beautifully kept site in a lovely quiet location but close to amenities and ideally placed to visit the North Yorkshire coast and countryside.immaculate facilities and a great little shop stocked with every essential you could need. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff too. Cafe on site is open 5 days a week serving lovely breakfasts and lunch menu, as well as really nice Pizza on Friday evenings. We will absolutely return often as it's close enough to us for lots of long weekends!

A very good camp site

Baldwin, Gary - 29/04/2026

This camp site was extremely clean and modern, it was well kept and had everything on it that we needed. The facilities were great, especially the unisex wet rooms, they were individual bathrooms, brilliant! Plenty of separate men and womens loos, separate showers, all of them and all super clean. A very handy laundry room and pot washing room, even a handy dog washing area.Reception and shop on site, there’s a cafe too but was closed two of the days we were there.A small park area and plenty of open spaces for walks. We would definitely use this park again.

A beautiful clean site with superb facilities

Wild, Lynne - 29/04/2026

This is a well situated site, handy for visiting the coast but there’s also lots to do in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pitches are spacious and flat. The facilities are top class, very clean and modern. In the Unisex section there are individual rooms with a shower, basin and toilet. There is a nice area for the children (we don’t have any but it appears popular) and a dog walk with a stream, we don’t have a dog but was told about it. The North Yorkshire Waterpark is nearby and is definitely worth a visit, free to park, lovely walks and plenty of water sports. Plenty of good pubs in the area. Pickering is a lovely place to visit, Helmsley and Thornton-le-Dale.
