Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights ( which wasn’t nearly long enough) and this was our first time here too. The campsite is so easy to access, beautifully kept with well cut grass, clearly marked huge pitches, and had the warmest of welcomes from the reception staff. Had requested when I booked that if possible for us to have a pitch quite close to the amenities as my husband has mobility issues and the pitch we were allocated was superb! Just in the right spot 👍Speaking of amenities, I can honestly say that these were some of the best I’ve seen. The toilets and showers were beautiful, absolutely spotless and hot water in abundance whatever time of day. The unisex wet rooms were inspired! What a wonderful idea for families and even included a bath tub 😀So convenient to travel to Whitby, Scarborough, Filey etc if you fancy a seaside trip Every campsite in the UK could learn a lot from the people that run this lovely site 👌We will definitely be back for another visit
Thank you Karen for your review. We are thrilled to hear that you had a great first stay with us. Lovely photos :)
Gorgeous park, great showers, immaculately clean. Lovely play area for children with added bonus of a field with goals for ball games. Really nice cafe on site- would be even better if it was open a bit longer.
Good location, nice site, very clean facilities. Nice cafe on site.
Great Campsite.Shower/toilet facilities are spotlessly clean, and the wet rooms are especially useful for those with young families.Onsite cafe is great for breakfast/coffee.Chip van on a Saturday evening is an added bonus.
Great site .staff are very friendly and helpful. Very hardworking ground staff.
