Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.

Fantastic site. Great facilities and friendly helpful staff. Pitch sizes are very generous. We’ve have chosen to stay here for all our holidays this year, and will mostly likely do the same for 2026.
It would have been perfect if it wasn’t for the electric that kept blowing. You couldn’t run any electrical appliance without it blowing straight away. Not ideal when you have a baby who needs formula milk and the kettle won’t work.
Hi FrancesThe electric on your bollard was tripping due to overload. Household kettles are not suitable as they boil using 13 to 15 amp which was taking you over the ampage. You need a low wattage kettle for using with a 10amp hook up bollard.
I can’t speak highly enough how good this site is. It is in a great location, with easy routes to the coast, Pickering, Goathland, Dalby Forest etc. The biggest mention I would like to highlight is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Unfortunately we experienced car trouble on our arrival at site and the staff were nothing more than brilliant. They helped me out in any way possible and made our stay as relaxing as possible despite the stress associated with my vehicle issues. We will definitely be back next year, hopefully problem free. This was our second visit and it was just as good, if not better than th first time we visited. Thankyou
Been to this site many times, I think it’s a lovely site and the facilities are really really nice. Best we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in loads. Even better than caravan and Motorhome sites facilities
As always a friendly greeting on arrival. The site is clean and tidy with excellent facilities. The onsite shop has the essentials and the restaurant provides good quality food and reasonable prices. WIFI access is not brilliant in certain areas. Pitch No 84 had no access all weekend. That said, still had another memorable stay.
We arrived and was greeted in reception by a lovely helpful lady, she showed us where our pitch was on a map and gave us all the info we needed. There is a lovely park opposite to walk your dog as well and no busy roads to cross. There is a guy who comes to the site on friday night and makes the most amazing pizzas ever, we ordered via text and collected at the time agreed. We had breakfast twice in the cafe which was lovely. Cafe nice and clean and service also very good. The toilets/ showers are spotless and cleaned regularly, they even have a bath! Will definitely return.Thankyou!
The site is extremely clean, well organised and has THE best toilet and shower facilities of any site I have been to. They are always extremely clean and I have never had to wait for a toilet or shower. The cafe is excellent and a really good addition to the site. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially when I needed some help with the electric hook up. Location is great for countryside and coast.
It was our first time at the Vale of Pickering camp site but it won't be our last Everything was just right from the site which is very clean to the toilet and shower block also very clean and warm for October our grandson likes a bath so that was perfect as well 👌. We have stayed on a good few campsites but never seen so many washing up sinks in yet another clean room The staff were very friendly and had time to answer our questions and also interact with our grandson We will be looking at our diary to see when we can come back next year
Everything about vale of pickering is wonderful, from the lovely helpful staff to the cleanliness of the shower blocks
Lovely, peaceful site in a great location. Great field for the dog. Super, modern shower block.
