Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

We arrived to a warm welcome from the park staff and check in was easy. The park itself was immaculate with decent size pitches. The toilet block had to be seen to be believed, its attention to detail and cleanliness was as good as being in your own home. I use a wheelchair and could move around easily and the large disabled cubicles were perfect for me. The site is perfectly situated for local attractions, we took the steam train to Whitby for the day.We will definitely be returning to ‘The Vale’
Excellent place, staff, and amenities. .. just can't fault this beautiful place we absolutely love it that's why we just keep coming back .Thank you for another great holiday can't wait to come back see you soon .So much to see and do .
We came here for our “inaugural” trip in our caravan needless to say we had a few teething issues! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful.Lovely site, very well kept and maintained. Exceptional toilet block facilities and great dog walk. We will most definitely be returning.
Nice clean site & facilities. Good café with pizza-night & decent homemade pizzas.
Amazing washing facilities! Best I have ever come across. Kids loved the play ground! Staff very friendly

Returned a second time to vale of Pickering and it impressed me like the first time. Faultless site. Wouldn't change anything it's all immaculate and clean and staff are welcoming and friendly. We stayed in pitch 110 (doesn't flood so good one for rainy months) and it's just a bit too far away from facilities for me so I will request a closer one next time.Oh I would change the cafe. For a school holiday I was shocked to hear is was closed most of the time I was there and only opened on the Thur (we left Fri morning) this was a shame as we fancied using it this time. All in all we will return again!
excellent , nice and quiet , very well looked after , will stay here again
This is a lovely welcoming site. The overall impression is of cleanliness, grounds kept immaculate and family friendly. Great location for peace and quiet yet not far from the quaint village of Thornton Le Dale, around 10mins in the car. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
Lovely quiet site with modern, clean facilities. Good dog walking area and football pitch. The children loved the play area, the best one they have been on within a caravan site so far. Water filling stations are located regularly around the site so it is a very short walk to refill the water containers. Ideally situated for visiting Whitby, Goathland, Scarborough and Bridlington. Will definitely visit again.
