Whether you are arriving from Holland, from Harwich, or setting off on your journey to the continent, you won’t find a better, more convenient place to stay than Strangers Holiday Park.

Strangers Holiday Park is a gated Holiday Touring Park located in Bradfield, near Manningtree in Essex. Comprising of just 20 Touring Pitches and Holiday Lodges now available for ownership, it is wonderfully positioned overlooking the beautiful Stour Estuary.

As the closest caravan park to Harwich Port, we welcome all holiday tourers from Holland and the Continent, as well as UK holidaymakers preparing to embark on their journey to the Hook of Holland.

Stay a night just passing through or stay longer and take in the beautiful countryside, towns and villages.

Strangers Holiday Park is in the perfect location to holiday and use as a base to make the most of day’s out to local towns and local attractions.

Visit Colchester Zoo and many historic properties including Lower Marney Tower, Audley End House and Mountfitchet Castle.

From your base here at Strangers Holiday Park, you will find that there is a wealth of interesting and enjoyable things to do and places to visit, both within a short distance and further afield.

The pleasant town of Manningtree just less than 3 miles away is a relaxing place to walk on the pathway alongside the River Stour, a river made famous by John Constable, who lived in nearby Flatford and painted Flatford Mill (Scene on a navigable River) and The Hay Wain.

The City of Colchester is 13 miles away and did you know, it’s from Colchester that you can take the train directly to London in less than an hour? It would be possible to see London in a day although we would recommend spending a bit more time to visit this incredible city as there is so much to see.

Strangers make you feel at home

Van Den Berg, Peter - 14/06/2025

Strangers is a perfect place to start and to end your holidays in great Britain. It is pleasant, quiet and relaxing. Nothing fancy, just good hospitality on a very well kept wide lawn with a view. We have been here every time we took the HoH-H ferry and have no intention whatsoever to change our habits.

Close to Harwich ferry

Helling, Sharon - 08/06/2025

We received a prompt confirmation and later details for gate code and news that the on site pub was permanently closed. The take away recommendations were helpful and the Chinese takeaway arrived in time and was lovely. We were greeted by site manager on arrival. Site is well spaced out in quiet village and only 20 minutes from ferry. Only downside was shower block which was old and with cobwebs. Having said that improvements had clearly been made. I would stay again if in Harwich. Pity about the pub.

Lovely clean site

Lovely site, near to lots of Public Footpaths so easy to investigate the surrounding area.Very clean and tidy. The showers / toilets could do with a refurb but were perfectly usable. Showers were big with lovely hot water.Greeted on Arrival by the manager, very friendly. Only downside was the on-site pub is not open and the nearest village pub does not serve food.

Location okay, infrastructure rather poor, too expensive

Birrer, Patrizia - 27/05/2025

We spent three nights there. As the campsite is close to the ferry, the location is good. The owner is very friendly and always easy to reach. The pitches are spacious and mostly very straight. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities and their surroundings are shabby. There is garbage around the house. A great pity.

Shiell, Stuart - 11/04/2025

We stayed for one night en route to catch the ferry from Harwich. Very tidy site and clean showers and toilet. Entrance by a locked gate( Combination number is sent to you ) so felt safe. Pub next to site was closed but another one just up the road. No food available but delivery can be made to pub and knives, forks and plates supplied.Stuart & Liz.
