Whether you are arriving from Holland, from Harwich, or setting off on your journey to the continent, you won’t find a better, more convenient place to stay than Strangers Holiday Park.
Strangers Holiday Park is a gated Holiday Touring Park located in Bradfield, near Manningtree in Essex. Comprising of just 20 Touring Pitches and Holiday Lodges now available for ownership, it is wonderfully positioned overlooking the beautiful Stour Estuary.
As the closest caravan park to Harwich Port, we welcome all holiday tourers from Holland and the Continent, as well as UK holidaymakers preparing to embark on their journey to the Hook of Holland.
Stay a night just passing through or stay longer and take in the beautiful countryside, towns and villages.
Strangers Holiday Park is in the perfect location to holiday and use as a base to make the most of day’s out to local towns and local attractions.
Visit Colchester Zoo and many historic properties including Lower Marney Tower, Audley End House and Mountfitchet Castle.
From your base here at Strangers Holiday Park, you will find that there is a wealth of interesting and enjoyable things to do and places to visit, both within a short distance and further afield.
The pleasant town of Manningtree just less than 3 miles away is a relaxing place to walk on the pathway alongside the River Stour, a river made famous by John Constable, who lived in nearby Flatford and painted Flatford Mill (Scene on a navigable River) and The Hay Wain.
The City of Colchester is 13 miles away and did you know, it’s from Colchester that you can take the train directly to London in less than an hour? It would be possible to see London in a day although we would recommend spending a bit more time to visit this incredible city as there is so much to see.
We welcome guests with Caravans & Motorhomes and offer Electric hook up points.
The Strangers holiday park is an adult only park which is a 4 acre site, situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Come and enjoy the Essex & Suffolk countryside.

Unfortunately the low wattage kettle we used tripped the electric everyday. This was bought specially to ensure it can be used when camping and we have no issues on any other campsites. The grass was longer than it should have been, especially for the start of the season. The toilet block is rather dirty and has mould growing in so we wouldn’t use this facility. It’s a shame as we used to be very regular visitors when it was under the previous owners.
This was our first stay at the Strangers holiday park and it was lovely! The toilets smelt lovely and clean and the showers were nice and hot in both men and women’s 😊 Facilities for washing up, emptying portable toilets, and fresh water to fill up the van with. It was lovely and peaceful, everyone was very friendly including the host on arrival. There was also plenty of space to walk the dogs. We loved it so much that we are returning next weekend too :) 10/10
A chap walked up with clip board to check who we were told us where the facilities are and that was it. The gated entrance and grounds were lovely, it was booked as an adult only site which was confirmed on the board upon entry, when on site there was 6 young children running around. The site manager drove by in his car and gave a thumbs up, my partner gave a thumbs down he carried on driving my partner had to run after him, the manager had to wait for the gate to open he managed to catch up with him. The manager then said that children are now allowed on site, partner then queried the board on site entrance said adult only, the manager shrugged his shoulders. My partner also told him that the facillities were poor, the ladies & gents toilets very cold 2 showers one with no lock on door, the other one had a clothes hook hanging off, toilet chemicals were left on the shelf in both. The shower mats in both ladies and gents hurt your feet, couldnt close door to ladies very poor hygiene.
We only live half an hour from the Strangers, and had never heard of the village of Bradfield and as the weather was lovely we decided to have an overnight trip there. We were impressed with the site and the facilities and we'll definitely return later in the year when the on site pub has reopened. The only complaint I would make is that the online booking system doesn't like same day bookings and the companies messaging system and phone were not working - thankfully when we arrived at the site check in was very simple.
Stayed here for one night in early March.Lovely little site in a nice village, pub currently closed due to renovation however there is another pub, five minutes walk from the site.Facilities were good, clean and easily accessible.Pitches look great and I’d imagine that in the summer they are stunning.
Return journey plans had changed unexpectedly but was allowed to move booking forward with no notice. Had puncture the next morning and had to wait 3 hours for mobile tyre fitter. John said I could stay as along as it took to get going again which was very kind of him. Have used a few times now and will continue to use in the future.
Being only recent motorhome owners, we never know what to expect. This place offered a warm, friendly welcome. The facilities were clean and plentiful. Lovely pitch in great surroundings made our short stay perfect
Nice well maintained site. With good facilities. Will definitely come back.
Lovely place right outside a pleasent comunity. Nice staff, the manager let us in hours vegore incheck and let us stay for a while longer at outcheck, due to our ferry departure hours. Althoug off season, we found the staff really nice. The bathroom facilities was nice and clean. The campground was stable and tidy.
You can book a pitch on the website. In the mail you receive you get a pitch number. But you do not know where it is, because there is no map of the campingsite on the website! So please add a map with pitch numbers! The campingsite itself is great and good pitches. In the evening you are welcomed by the owner/site warden? Which is very nice.Only the toilet blocks are a little out aged and the showers looks not very clean. Baskets at the doors not clean, dead musquitos and flies in windows. That just does not feel comfortable when washing/showering.
