Whether you are arriving from Holland, from Harwich, or setting off on your journey to the continent, you won’t find a better, more convenient place to stay than Strangers Holiday Park.

Strangers Holiday Park is a gated Holiday Touring Park located in Bradfield, near Manningtree in Essex. Comprising of just 20 Touring Pitches and Holiday Lodges now available for ownership, it is wonderfully positioned overlooking the beautiful Stour Estuary.

As the closest caravan park to Harwich Port, we welcome all holiday tourers from Holland and the Continent, as well as UK holidaymakers preparing to embark on their journey to the Hook of Holland.

Stay a night just passing through or stay longer and take in the beautiful countryside, towns and villages.

Strangers Holiday Park is in the perfect location to holiday and use as a base to make the most of day’s out to local towns and local attractions.

Visit Colchester Zoo and many historic properties including Lower Marney Tower, Audley End House and Mountfitchet Castle.

From your base here at Strangers Holiday Park, you will find that there is a wealth of interesting and enjoyable things to do and places to visit, both within a short distance and further afield.

The pleasant town of Manningtree just less than 3 miles away is a relaxing place to walk on the pathway alongside the River Stour, a river made famous by John Constable, who lived in nearby Flatford and painted Flatford Mill (Scene on a navigable River) and The Hay Wain.

The City of Colchester is 13 miles away and did you know, it’s from Colchester that you can take the train directly to London in less than an hour? It would be possible to see London in a day although we would recommend spending a bit more time to visit this incredible city as there is so much to see.

Toilet and douches are not clean. We will not take a shower. Toilet floor needs a good brushing. For such a overnight-price we expect more! Its a pitty, for two years ago it was exactly the same!We had hopend it would be improved!

All in all very disappointing. Do not arrive before 4pm.

Maybank, Ian - 20/04/2026

Had to wait outside the barrier for over 3 quarters of an hour to get into the site.Managed to get in, using one of the residents key fobs.If he had not arrived who knows how long we would have waited. We phoned repeated times to the three different numbers. The hand written number on the gate, could have ended 66 or 06 as it was so badly written! The two numbers on the pitch up site were not answered either. Our afternoon had been spoilt by the delay as we were unable to set up properly as we had an appointment in Shotley.Fortunately the resident lent us the fob as we were not able to open the gate either. The manager of the site was out in his taxi doing a school run job. He couldn’t care less about the inconvenience he caused us. No apology! Although the shower water was hot and strong the cubicle floors we filthyThe baskets provided for towels etc. Filthy! The whole toilet block was uncleanWhat WiFi?Strangers was the worst experience of van touring.

Night stop

Goodall, Madeline - 19/04/2026

The site was clean and well maintained. It was quiet. The facilities were very basic - kept clean but rather ‘run down. Our electricity supply was somewhat temperamental. It was ok for an overnight stop and only a short car ride to the ferry. There was a pleasant walk by the Stour Estuary not too far away by car, which we did after we arrived.

Never again.

Hopkins, Tim - 19/04/2026

Strangers is an overpriced throwback to 1980‘s style Camping when standards were poor and no one cared. The toilet and shower facilities were disgustingly dirty and old fashioned. One of the toilets was so badly fitted that to sit down you had to bend forward at 45 degrees because the bowl was too close to the cistern. The urinal in the gents had probably never been cleaned since the plumber who installed it, tested it out. All in all totally unacceptable. At £40 a night there is zero value for money and nothing worthy of recommendation.

Good site for catching a ferry from Harwich

The grounds are 100% and secure - our kind of campsite! However, we feel the washroom facilities definitely need a refurbishment. Somebody needs to cobweb and dust as well.
