Whether you are arriving from Holland, from Harwich, or setting off on your journey to the continent, you won’t find a better, more convenient place to stay than Strangers Holiday Park.
Strangers Holiday Park is a gated Holiday Touring Park located in Bradfield, near Manningtree in Essex. Comprising of just 20 Touring Pitches and Holiday Lodges now available for ownership, it is wonderfully positioned overlooking the beautiful Stour Estuary.
As the closest caravan park to Harwich Port, we welcome all holiday tourers from Holland and the Continent, as well as UK holidaymakers preparing to embark on their journey to the Hook of Holland.
Stay a night just passing through or stay longer and take in the beautiful countryside, towns and villages.
Strangers Holiday Park is in the perfect location to holiday and use as a base to make the most of day’s out to local towns and local attractions.
Visit Colchester Zoo and many historic properties including Lower Marney Tower, Audley End House and Mountfitchet Castle.
From your base here at Strangers Holiday Park, you will find that there is a wealth of interesting and enjoyable things to do and places to visit, both within a short distance and further afield.
The pleasant town of Manningtree just less than 3 miles away is a relaxing place to walk on the pathway alongside the River Stour, a river made famous by John Constable, who lived in nearby Flatford and painted Flatford Mill (Scene on a navigable River) and The Hay Wain.
The City of Colchester is 13 miles away and did you know, it’s from Colchester that you can take the train directly to London in less than an hour? It would be possible to see London in a day although we would recommend spending a bit more time to visit this incredible city as there is so much to see.
We welcome guests with Caravans & Motorhomes and offer Electric hook up points.
The Strangers holiday park is an adult only park which is a 4 acre site, situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Come and enjoy the Essex & Suffolk countryside.

We stayed here because it is near the ferry for our first night in Great Brittan. Spacious place , the sanitary rooms could need een update. For one night fine.
First impressions not good - the outside keypad didn't work. Another guest let us in. We never saw any staff in three days. Toilets and showers barely adequate and rarely cleaned. The site is quiet but with few facilities. We wouldn't visit this site again.
We had a great stay, and was made welcome by the site representative on our arrival. We have made a reservation for the month of July 2026
Camping is uitstekend, de wasgelegenheid was niet schoon. Met name de vloeren zijn niet schoon, afvalbakken. Heel veel stof. Als dit aangepakt wordt is dit een uitstekende camping
Though clean shower and toilet facilities were poor. Needs updating Perfect for the ferry.
We allways start at Strangers when we are coming foor a holiday in the UK.Great start if you travell with Stena Line from Hoek van Holland to Harwich, its only 18 minutes drive from Harwich. And its a convenient campsite to start. The pub/coffee shop has a new identity as well, so good breakfast and lunch.
It is great that this campsite/camping field is located so close to Harwich. That makes it very attractive. Another advantage is that you can check yourself in until 10:00 PM. The campsite manager stopped by briefly for some personal contact, which was much appreciated. Before our arrival, it was unclear whether the restaurant/bar located directly next to the campsite was open. The information online is not very clear about this. As a result, we decided to have dinner in Manningtree before heading to the campsite, at the Italian restaurant Lucca. We highly recommend it—delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent value for money. The terrace of The Strangers Home restaurant also looked very inviting and well maintained. It would be wonderful if campsite guests had the option to enjoy breakfast there in the morning! 😉Manningtree and Mistley are also beautiful villages worth visiting. The pitches at the campsite are spacious. However, the sanitary facilities are quite
Lovely views from site and right next to a great pub. Shower and toilet facilities ok but could do with a freshen up.
We were very impressed with the size of the pitches and how neat and tidy the grounds were. It is a very convenient place to stay if you are catching the ferry to the Hook of Holland. However, I would have given the holiday park 4 Stars if it wasn’t for the sanitary block and dishwashing area which lets it down, it was dirty and badly in need of a refurb. I would only come back if this was carried out.
