Whether you are arriving from Holland, from Harwich, or setting off on your journey to the continent, you won’t find a better, more convenient place to stay than Strangers Holiday Park.

Strangers Holiday Park is a gated Holiday Touring Park located in Bradfield, near Manningtree in Essex. Comprising of just 20 Touring Pitches and Holiday Lodges now available for ownership, it is wonderfully positioned overlooking the beautiful Stour Estuary.

As the closest caravan park to Harwich Port, we welcome all holiday tourers from Holland and the Continent, as well as UK holidaymakers preparing to embark on their journey to the Hook of Holland.

Stay a night just passing through or stay longer and take in the beautiful countryside, towns and villages.

Strangers Holiday Park is in the perfect location to holiday and use as a base to make the most of day’s out to local towns and local attractions.

Visit Colchester Zoo and many historic properties including Lower Marney Tower, Audley End House and Mountfitchet Castle.

From your base here at Strangers Holiday Park, you will find that there is a wealth of interesting and enjoyable things to do and places to visit, both within a short distance and further afield.

The pleasant town of Manningtree just less than 3 miles away is a relaxing place to walk on the pathway alongside the River Stour, a river made famous by John Constable, who lived in nearby Flatford and painted Flatford Mill (Scene on a navigable River) and The Hay Wain.

The City of Colchester is 13 miles away and did you know, it’s from Colchester that you can take the train directly to London in less than an hour? It would be possible to see London in a day although we would recommend spending a bit more time to visit this incredible city as there is so much to see.

Good site for catching a ferry from Harwich

Allman, Amanda - 26/10/2025

The grounds are 100% and secure - our kind of campsite! However, we feel the washroom facilities definitely need a refurbishment. Somebody needs to cobweb and dust as well.

Poor facilities block

Skipper, Ian - 17/10/2025

The reception by staff was good. The pitches were good. Electricity free. Price was reasonable. Site was quiet. But.. the facilities block is well outdated and in poor condition, also in need of a deep clean. The next door cafe (owned by others) is excellent and can be accessed direct from the campsite - would recommend it.

Toilets and showers old and direct.

The booking was easy and efficiënt. We were sent an email with the entry code. The appointed pitch was easy to find. But the toilets and bathroom were old and not clean.

Unloved

Grant, Kerensa - 20/09/2025

3

Great location and good coffee shop on site. However, the trees on the site were very overgrown. The showers and toilets were absolutely disgraceful. Cobwebs, dirty, rusty. And, on more than one occasion, there was no hot water from the shower, taps or washing up area. Not acceptable, given that this is not a cheap site to stay at.

Site was well ordered and easy to use. Entry gate difficult to use on arrival. We left early the next morning and there was no hot water for the shower.

Gunstige plek met armetierig sanitair

De Jonge, Erik - 09/09/2025

2

Coming straight off the ferry at Harwich, short journey.

Yorston, Dawn - 07/09/2025

4

We picked the site due to the location. Short drive from the ferry at Harwich. Very glad we did else a long drive in the dark! We were prepared to use the code for the barrier but the owner was there to help and direct us to our pitch.Perfect long pitch, catering for long set ups, ie like us campervan and trailer or car and caravan, with no need to unhitch, perfect for just an overnight stay.Facilities were dated but functional. Washing up area only unfortunately no hot water due to a technical fault.
