Whether you are arriving from Holland, from Harwich, or setting off on your journey to the continent, you won’t find a better, more convenient place to stay than Strangers Holiday Park.
Strangers Holiday Park is a gated Holiday Touring Park located in Bradfield, near Manningtree in Essex. Comprising of just 20 Touring Pitches and Holiday Lodges now available for ownership, it is wonderfully positioned overlooking the beautiful Stour Estuary.
As the closest caravan park to Harwich Port, we welcome all holiday tourers from Holland and the Continent, as well as UK holidaymakers preparing to embark on their journey to the Hook of Holland.
Stay a night just passing through or stay longer and take in the beautiful countryside, towns and villages.
Strangers Holiday Park is in the perfect location to holiday and use as a base to make the most of day’s out to local towns and local attractions.
Visit Colchester Zoo and many historic properties including Lower Marney Tower, Audley End House and Mountfitchet Castle.
From your base here at Strangers Holiday Park, you will find that there is a wealth of interesting and enjoyable things to do and places to visit, both within a short distance and further afield.
The pleasant town of Manningtree just less than 3 miles away is a relaxing place to walk on the pathway alongside the River Stour, a river made famous by John Constable, who lived in nearby Flatford and painted Flatford Mill (Scene on a navigable River) and The Hay Wain.
The City of Colchester is 13 miles away and did you know, it’s from Colchester that you can take the train directly to London in less than an hour? It would be possible to see London in a day although we would recommend spending a bit more time to visit this incredible city as there is so much to see.
We welcome guests with Caravans & Motorhomes and offer Electric hook up points.
The Strangers holiday park is an adult only park which is a 4 acre site, situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Come and enjoy the Essex & Suffolk countryside.

It was a very stormy weekend in December Which being in a motorhome was an experience..But all the staff from the site warden to the pub were extremely helpful on everyway Very friendly and welcoming..We had drinks in the pub on Fri night we were made to feel very welcome And dinner in the pub on sat night was good we enjoyed our evening..Overall the WC showers washing up points were very good everything you could want really... Definitely be going back in the better weather as couldn't do the walks we wanted to as weather was let's say wet and very windy
Nice little site. However we found the facilities to be lacking in respect to the price. Very basic shower and toilet block. Basically just a shed kitted out. No grey waste disposal onsite. The pub was extremely friendly, food cooked to order and was really nice. Separate owners to campsite. This was one of the mos expensive sites we have stayed at, and if we return it will be because of the pub.
Everything is good organized, the hole Site is clean and the Pitches are with great Space and beautiful sight.Facilities are in old buildings, but modern and clean. You will get in and out by codenumber, that is send you 24 Hours bevor your booked Arrival. The best and nearest Place to the Car Ferry from Harwich to Hoek van Holland.
The campsite is 20mins drive from the port of Harwich which makes it an ideal site for pre-ferry crossings. It is level and well drained. Entry onto the site is via a key coded gate which is extremely convenient. The site felt secure. The sanitary facilities are adequate but would benefit from an upgrade. We believe that the site is under new ownership. The owners are very friendly and enthusiastic. We had a meal in the on-site pub. The menu was simple pub/cafe fayre and fairly priced for what is was. Service was attentive and friendly. As an example, cold sliced sandwich ham, frozen chips and a fried egg; £11.I would recommend the site to anyone who was looking for a secure and level site close to Harwich Ferry.
Easy access and dirty and outdated toilet blocks. Pub is nice, but menu is quite simple.
Not suitable for Glamping issues, but honest, clean and simple. All you need!
The site was tidy and the pitches clearly numbered. the lack of a reception was a bit strange. Simply a gate code mailed to you which allowed access onto the site. As we were pitching our tent a fellow campers dog was free wandering around despite clear signage that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. This dog then proceeded to do its business right at the entrance of another tent while the dogs owner was blissfully unaware. The "lucky" tent owners were not in so would only find out when they returned. The same dog also decided to pick a fight with some others that were on site too. We left for the day and when we returned the unfortunate recipients of the dogs present had put a mat over the offening area. The staff were on patrol and happily chatted to the dogs owner while it roamed around so it seems this site rule is pretty lax. However it is a very convienient location for visitng family in the area and this small incident won't put us off visiting again
Friendly and helpful staff. Great pitches, great pub. Unfortunately for the price we paid I would expect much more better and modern toilet and shower facilities.
We stayed for 1 night so we could catch the ship back to the Netherlands from Harwich. We did not need a lot of room and since we did not have neighbours we could leave the tourer attached to the car which was great!. The pub was closed due to familiy affairs which was a pitty, fortunately for us there was a pizza food truck with great pizza's.The toilets where clean and ok
We only stayed one night at the Strangers Park as it seemed the best site to camp for the morning ferry from Harwich. We had a good spot and really enjoyed our dinner at the pub. We would love to come back and spend more time exploring the estuary
