Such a great find. The location is ideal, a short drive to the Harwich Ferry Terminal and I'm sure quite a few people use it for that, which we did. But having stayed there, that is doing the Site a disservice, as it's a great Site in its own right. The owners are lovely, really warm and welcoming. The pub on site is a great added bonus. The toilet and shower facilities, whilst relatively basic, are spotlessly clean and ideal.We'll be back.

In the beginning a bit difficult to enter the campsite. It was not clear where we could find the code to enter. But a friendly helping person helped us and once on the campsite that was all forgotten. Nice field, perfect pitch and clean sanitair.

Campsite good for the overnight stay after we had the daytime ferry Hoek van Holland to Harwich. No problem to be there with our two children for one night, although it is an adult only campsite. The pub was closed on the Monday, so the campsite was very calm. The roads to the campsite are a bit narrow, as usual in England. But even as a firsttime left driver towing a caravan, we could still drive up there, without too much stress. Only the sanitary could be maintained/cleaned a bit better, but for the one night, it was ok.

A great, friendly and welcoming tidy site. Well maintained with lovely toilet and shower facilities, clean! A quiet village, nice walks around to the estuary and beyond. Perfect for using the ferry from Harwich to Hoek-van-Holland and vice versa!Thank you very much!

The Strangers is a fine place for a holiday, especially to begin or end for tourists overseas. Comfortable sanitairs, spacious pitches, very nice pub, friendly people and nice area.

The campsite is more interested in longstay than in passing caravans. The sanitary building is very old and need to be modernised. The pub which is next to the site is recently modernised and looks very nice, the menu is limited.

The Toilets and showers where dirty and not well mantained

Very convenient for arrivals from the ferry in Harwich after a day crossing. Self check in up to 10.00 pm with the entry code for the gate sent two days before arrival makes for a stress free arrival. Plenty of pitches on site with some hard standing and all the necessary facilities.

Not an easy camping to reach. No signs. It all looks old and not at all what we saw on the website.Kind warden who helped us.

On arrival with advance gate code all went well, we were met and had facilities pointed out to us. The site is very flat with some hardstandings and grass pitches well laid out and tidy. There is no specific Motorhome service area, one outside tap near the pub accessible for motorhome water filling. There is a chemical toilet facility and a second outside tap near the wash buildings. There are two sinks, a urinal, three WCs and two shower cubicles. However the building is very dated requiring an update, one coat hook on each shower door which were just hanging on by very loose screws and a basket which did not look inviting to use. Shower heads on flexipipe but the brackets to support them are well past their useful life and do not secure the shower heads in use. There was plenty of hot water and drainage was good. WC doors do not have clothes hooks, however the toilets were clean. We did not see anyone actually cleaning the facilities but it was being done. Site security is good.
