Proudly family-owned and run, our caravan park is really a community - carefully planned and maintained, spacious pitches set amidst well-tended landscaping and gardens; smart, modern on-site amenities, and leisure facilities designed for ‘kids’ of all ages, from 2 to 92!
We offer a variety of spacious, well-maintained hard-standing pitches, each with its own exclusive water and electricity supply. With ample space for even the largest touring caravan and awning, our pitches have a variety of outlooks, and pitches on the top section of the touring park are bounded by attractive 'rosa rugosa' (wild rose) hedging for a bit of extra privacy.
Close by Reception, our heated amenities building is bright, modern and comfortable; well-equipped and scrupulously clean. Open right through the day and evening, theInside the amenities building shower areas are equipped with hairdryers and the ladies' toilets and washing facilities also feature privacy cubicles. As you will see from the pictures, our amenities are second to none and disabled-friendly.
Also housed in the amenities building is a bright and airy self-service laundry with modern, coin-operated clothes washing and tumble-drying equipment - and a spacious vegetable preparation area too. We even have a small selection of books here, for our guests to borrow and read!
Meanwhile, over in the Leisure Centre there are additional shower and toilet facilities for guests' use.
Tucked safely away from the traffic, yet close to Reception and the Leisure Centre, our toddlers' play area is bright and colourful and it provides hours of fun for our smallest guests, whilst for the bigger kids our nearby grassed play park is a fun-packed area of swings, a slide and seesaw and a chunky climbing frame.
Aspiring footballers are well catered for on our large, grassed football pitch - equipped with full goalposts and conveniently located in the centre of the park. This area is also popular for other ball games - cricket, for example - and with kite-flyers.
And of course, we haven't forgotten the family pooch. In fact, our seven-acre dog walking path extends a good distance round the park, so exercise is not a problem - for dog or owner!
All our pitches offer ample room to entertain guests - to a barbeque, for example - and for larger groups and parties, we're happy to arrange to allocate some dedicated space offering a bit of exclusivity, without impacting on our other guests.
The Leisure Centre is at the hub of our entertainment facilities - both in its location and its attractions. From our 54-foot swimming pool to our sauna, the chalet-style Leisure Centre offers Ranch guests lots to do, and light refreshments from our friendly snack-bar, with its own television, to relax with afterwards.

Our popular super pithes offer a even more space of well-maintained hard-standing pitches, each with its own exclusive water and electricity supply.

Onsite, they have a wee pool, shop and sometimes a takeaway pizza oven van :) There are a good few walks nearby as well like Mochrum Wood and into Maybole. The staff are helpful and friendly and put on loads of events for the kids/family like easter egg hunts etc.I think the only thing to take into consideration is that you need to travel a few miles to get to more places. As long as your fine with that, there's loads to do for all the family.A few examples;Croyshore beach (good for swimming)Culzean Castle (historic scotlkand passess needed, but great for all the family)Maidens Beach (lovely walks and great wee restaurants)Dunure (harbour walks, food and drinks, kids parks)Electic Brae (very strange! :) )Heads of Ayr (A great full day out for the kids)DoonfootAyr beachPirate Pete'sBeach ParkGolden Disc (Penny arcades)to name a few! I've popped on some photos as well.Oh! The Maybole Chippy delivers to the caravan park too ;)
The Ranch Holiday park is in the countryside just outside of Maybole but isn’t far from the sea. We have a seasonal pitch there for our caravan because we love the place so much. The park itself is well kept and very clean as are the toilet and shower facilities. The McAuley family who own the park are so freindly and couldn’t do enough for you! They often put on events for children and adults alike such as the Easter egg hunt and Coronation party. They also have a swimming pool and I try to go for a swim each morning that I’m there. There are several nice restaurants nearby but our favourites are probably The Greenside in Mabole and Souters Inn in Kirkoswald. All in all the Park is good value for money.
Clean and tidy site toilet block spotless big plus was the heated pool and children play area highly recommend
Been a fue time and always same friendly staff ,and good pitch .
Enjoyed our stay in our campervan at The Ranch. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers were clean and working. Had thought we might use the pool, but times when it was available didn't suit us.It would have been good to have free wi-fi available - it wasn't a big extra charge but a bit disappointing.
Had a stop over at The Ranch while on a tour in the SW of Scotland. Booking and communications were spot on and easy. Checked in and had free choice of pitch. Site was quiet which suits me and nice veiws over the fields
Overall it’s a pleasant site.Toilet lights are on a timer so watch out in the shower 😄
Recommend by a friend, we have been twice and will continue to go back.
We'd hope to get in at another site belonging to a camping club of which we are members. Which was nearer to Culzean Castle. But finding The Ranch online was a real plus. No problem with booking. Owners (man and son) very helpful and friendly. Facilities excellent. We shall use again if in the area.
Stayed here late September just as storm Agnes due to arrive. Wardens were all really friendly, very helpful - just really nice people. Facilities were very clean. Lovely setting surroundings. Small dog walk on site which was lovely, lots to do around the area too. Culzean Castle is a must. Great site
