The Paddock at Rutland water is an adult only touring caravan and motorhome retreat for the discerning traveller. Set in 4 acres, with 15 generous grass pitches you can be assured of a relaxing and peaceful stay.
Walking and cycling around the reservoir is a wonderful way to pass some time whilst taking in the views and spotting rare wildlife.
There are many local amenities and with the villages of Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford a short drive from the site you have everything you need for a memorable visit.
Visit local attractions and eateries, including the award winning quintessential Fox country pub, located only 3 miles away in the quaint village of North Luffenham, booking advisable.
Rutland is the smallest county in the UK and with the appropriate motto Multum-in-Parvo (Much in little) there is something for everyone.
It is because of these reasons we are normally booked up well in advance therefore to ensure you are not disappointed, book your next stay with us today.
As we do not have toilets or shower facilities on site, guest’s need to be self sufficient in this regard. We do however provide chemical toilet emptying facilities, recycling provision, mains water and electric hook up points (optional).

Easy access to this wonderful site with spacious well maintained pitches. Almost on the shores of Rutland Water and certainly easily accessed on foot or by car. Nature reserve a few minutes walk away. The owner visits every day to welcome new arrivals. Lots of lovely walks around the area. This was our second visit this year and booked in again for Spring.
A very well presented site. Fresh water, chemical toilet point and well sorted refuse point. Very good hard standings, that are nearly level....one block needed in some cases. Very quiet....though an ice cream van with a nostalgic tune appeared one afternoon.Close to a garden centre that has excellent coffee and cake ( 4 minute walk from site and is dog friendly) Also close to Barnsdale TV gardens...good value place to visit...if you are a keen gardener allow lots of time.( no dogs in gardens but limited shaded parking available.)Fox pub worth a visit. Not 5* as there is no waste water emptying point. Was advised by other campers to just let it run into the long grass/ bushes. Hmm ..is this what responsible campers should be encouraged to do?Overall the site is easy to reach and is good value for money. We have been before and will certainly book again
Hi DavidThank you for your review, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Paddock. For your future information there are two grey water emptying points on site located between pitches 2 and 3 and pitches 11 and 12.. These are adjacent to the drinking water taps.We look forward to welcoming you back to The Paddock in the future.Best wishesJason
Excellent as always. If you want friendly helpful owners , peace and quiet, extra large pitches ,lovely views and easy access to Rutland water and its beautiful surrounding villages this is the place to go.Would highly recommend
The Paddock is an ideal base for exploring Rutland, with easy access to routes for walking, cycling and water-based activities. The site is well-kept and pitches are spacious. This was our second visit and it's definitely a site we'll return to.
Great for access to Rutlan Water and surrounding villages. - Good access to nearby towns of Oakham and Melton Mowbray. - Excellent food, beer and service in The Fox at North Luffenham. - Struggled with mobile data in the area from O2, so some local WiFi would be of benefit?? - Very happy to go back!
First impression when arriving at the site was well maintained. We were greeted upon arrival by Jason and he offered information regarding the site and surrounding area. Excellent sized pitches, perfect for our motorhome of 8m. Pitches were a mix of both grass and hard standing. Ours was very private. Only a 5 minute walk to the nature reserve and less to reach the cycle path. Cycled all the way around including the peninsula. Pubs are a drive out not a walk out. Garden centre only a 5 minute walk with a cafe.
This was a lovely small site with fantastic views over Rutland water.
This was our third visit to the site. We thoroughly enjoyed the quietness, the views and the whole set up. We like being able to see availability on line and also being able to choose a pitch. The aite is very well kept and everything is so clean. Jason is there often and is very helpful and friendly. It’s next door to a lovely golf club which we have played in a few times and a short trip to Uppingham and Oakham. Great walks from the site too and we had a lovely lunch in tThe Fox pub nearby. Will definitely be back.
We love this site for its simplicity and tranquility. Always a pleasure to stay and relax
No veiw of the lake from the pitches thought there might be, nice and quite
