The Oaks lakes at Sessay in North Yorkshire is home to lakes for both match and pleasure fishing. The lakes originally opened in 1994 starting with the Willows lake and over the years it has steadily grown. We currently have 10 lakes with over 400 Pegs, a large café, tackle shop and this year we will be opening a caravan Park in a quiet corner of the lakes so that everyone can come and enjoy the North's most well-known fishing complex.
The 4-acre field is rectangular with a mature wood running along the North West side providing shelter and privacy from the fishing lakes, the North east side faces the Hambleton Hills and the white horse.
A small peaceful, adults only, touring caravan park with supersized hard standing pitches all with their own electrical hook-up, situated in a quiet corner of the fishery but with easy access to the lakes and facilities. Next door to the tackle shop is the Oaks Lakes Cafe which is open everyday, serving cooked breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, panini's, soups, homemade cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.
The Oaks Lakes sit to the North end of the village and are screened with woodland and hedges there are 10 fishing lakes used for many course fishing competitions and featured regularly in the leading angling magazines. The whole area teams with places to go, whether you want to Walk, Cycle or Drive there is plenty to do here is a few: 18 miles away is the ancient walled City of York straight down the A19 approx 35 Minutes. 3 miles will take you to the market town of Thirsk, with its interesting James Herriott Museum. Castle Howard sits thirteen miles from us in the pretty market town of Helmsley.
All pitches are level, supersized hardstanding approx 14m x 12m wide.

| 10 amp hook up with light bollard |

This was our first time at Oakes lakes, very well keep site with large level pitches, water points close by and waste not too far.Facilities were always kept very clean with nice hot water not tepid like some sites, shower drying area a little tight but still useable and kept very clean. The size of the pitches as mentioned is really good and plenty of room to manoeuvre.I did fish there during our stay and again plenty of choice of lakes and some good sized fish, very helpful guy in the shop and the person collecting monies bankside gave some great pointers for a newby like myself. Will definitely return 👍
Stayed on the site before. Hubby is a fisherman so enjoys a few days away in the caravan. This time our daughter and husband joined us in their campavan. Our son in law is only recently taken up fishing so ideal opportunity for us all to get together.
We've been coming here for alot of years now, very tidy campsite & facilities. Fishing is good and chris & tom are happy to give out advice on methods depending on which lake you choose to fish..Will definitely be back. thanks for a great weekend..
Came to The Oaks for a couple of days fishing, lovely peaceful campsite, level pitches and clean facilities.Friendly owners who were very welcoming and offered plenty of fishing tips. We would definitely return.
This is a great base to explore this part of West Yorkshire and even better if you are into coarse fishing. It gets a 4 Star rating because there is no on site wifi.
Site well placed for local market towns, clean n tidy site, large pitches, showers could be abit larger with a seat to get dressed, washing up facilities good but the sinks are a bit to low down for average height person.
Over all the site is very good. Clean and tidy. The toilet block is nice enough, but not fancy. The push button showers are a bit hit and miss one worked well the other only lasted 6 seconds and the water temperature wasn’t stable. I stayed for the fishing and enjoyed myself. However, for someone not into fishing the site might be a bit boring. Would highly recommend for anglers.
