Over all the site is very good. Clean and tidy. The toilet block is nice enough, but not fancy. The push button showers are a bit hit and miss one worked well the other only lasted 6 seconds and the water temperature wasn’t stable. I stayed for the fishing and enjoyed myself. However, for someone not into fishing the site might be a bit boring. Would highly recommend for anglers.

Booked and paid deposit - was on my way there when I noticed no dogs allowed - called the site and explained I had not seen this previously - very abrupt response from the owner who said no refund of the £45 paid or even an offer to change our booking timE - we appreciate this was the bank holiday weekend but we have never experienced a site not allowing dogs - customer service was very poor - we will not be booking again

Peaceful site and at only 7 minuets or so drive to Thirsk a good location, well spaced hardstanding level pitches, the facilities were well kept and clean and if you are a fisherman (which I'm not) an ideal location to indulge your passion, a very enjoyable few days and would no hesitate to stay again when in the area.

We have been coming for a few years but after a gap of a couple of years we decided to return. It wasn't the same as it used to be. Toilets weren't cleaned the 3 days we were there bins over flowing, no toilet roll, outdoor bins full. More staff required not just to collect fishing money and to double check they had paid later each day. Noise until 1.30am I know that isn't the owner's fault but maybe put signs up with a noise time limit not just on the website.

Love this place. Friendly owners who work hard to deliver a 5 star holiday and fishing venue.The lakes are a joy ,easy access well stocked and a tackle / bait shop onside. Day tickets available at bankside and the owner is always happy to offer tips to get the best of your peg.The campsite is great too. Well kept with large pitches, Adult only and No dogs allowed.What a refreshing change to be free of noisy miss behaved dogs that foul every fixture and fitting.Great toilet block again well maintained and clean.For me the only reason I gave it 4 stars was I feel the showers are cramped and only two available.Although the owners are updating things regularly. A new addition this year two lovely shepherd huts.Keep up the good work your doing great 👍

Great site,basic but clean toilets/showers.Lovely surroundings,so worth another trip.Only downside was visiting the onsite cafe,met by staff who were incapable of a warm reply to any question (the fishermen queuing in front of us even joked about the sullen reception).Had a breakfast,stone cold tomatoes,politely mentioned ,tomatoes removed from plate and replaced by the smallest tinned tomato I've ever seen.Shame because the cafe was ideally placed but won't be using again.Sarah was brilliant,swapped us over to a camping pod for final night.

Nobody greeted us on arrival, showers were hopeless. Nobody came near to check we were ok. No one answered the phone intercom wanted us to top up there phone 😂

We love coming to the Oaks Lakes. It a lovely quiet site with clean facilities and near enough to Thirsk, Northallerton and York . Ticks all our boxes.
