The Oaks lakes at Sessay in North Yorkshire is home to lakes for both match and pleasure fishing. The lakes originally opened in 1994 starting with the Willows lake and over the years it has steadily grown. We currently have 10 lakes with over 400 Pegs, a large café, tackle shop and this year we will be opening a caravan Park in a quiet corner of the lakes so that everyone can come and enjoy the North's most well-known fishing complex.
The 4-acre field is rectangular with a mature wood running along the North West side providing shelter and privacy from the fishing lakes, the North east side faces the Hambleton Hills and the white horse.
A small peaceful, adults only, touring caravan park with supersized hard standing pitches all with their own electrical hook-up, situated in a quiet corner of the fishery but with easy access to the lakes and facilities. Next door to the tackle shop is the Oaks Lakes Cafe which is open everyday, serving cooked breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, panini's, soups, homemade cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.
The Oaks Lakes sit to the North end of the village and are screened with woodland and hedges there are 10 fishing lakes used for many course fishing competitions and featured regularly in the leading angling magazines. The whole area teams with places to go, whether you want to Walk, Cycle or Drive there is plenty to do here is a few: 18 miles away is the ancient walled City of York straight down the A19 approx 35 Minutes. 3 miles will take you to the market town of Thirsk, with its interesting James Herriott Museum. Castle Howard sits thirteen miles from us in the pretty market town of Helmsley.
All pitches are level, supersized hardstanding approx 14m x 12m wide.

I stayed here primarily for the fishing which you can’t fault, the complex is the best I have had the pleasure to fish. The campsite area is great, spacious level pitches, the only criticism of the pitch is the make up of the hard standing appears to be broken up tarmac but perfectly adequate. The grey/black waste and water points are all fine, the facilities block is clean with plenty of soap and loo roll.Plenty hot water in the showers, only criticism of the showers is the water seemed to go everywhere and flooded both shower cubicles which meant I had to mop up both sides, perhaps the drainage could be improved.
Ideal for a fishing holiday has all you need on site
Excellent
As every year had brilliant stay.Fantastic place and people!
We have had a restful, idyllic 10 days at The Oaks Lakes caravan park. My husband has just got back into fishing and he has caught more fish than he ever has done before. It is in the most beautiful peaceful setting.. It is a lovely place to walk round in the evenings and also nice to sit outside the caravan. The washrooms were always clean and tidy. A good place to go into Thirsk, Ripon and Northallerton and we spent a lovely day at Fountains Abbey. The weather was also very good, toohot at times but showed the siteat its best. We stayed twice last year for 10 days and 10days this July. I don't think we have anymore holidays now this year but it would be the first place we would go if possible. Just love it .
Excellent fishing surrounded by beautiful countryside. Cafe onsite has excellent food is really good. Shop for fishing tackle has everything you need and the host is friendly and helpful. We will be going back next year in September.
