The Oaks lakes at Sessay in North Yorkshire is home to lakes for both match and pleasure fishing. The lakes originally opened in 1994 starting with the Willows lake and over the years it has steadily grown. We currently have 10 lakes with over 400 Pegs, a large café, tackle shop and this year we will be opening a caravan Park in a quiet corner of the lakes so that everyone can come and enjoy the North's most well-known fishing complex.
The 4-acre field is rectangular with a mature wood running along the North West side providing shelter and privacy from the fishing lakes, the North east side faces the Hambleton Hills and the white horse.
A small peaceful, adults only, touring caravan park with supersized hard standing pitches all with their own electrical hook-up, situated in a quiet corner of the fishery but with easy access to the lakes and facilities. Next door to the tackle shop is the Oaks Lakes Cafe which is open everyday, serving cooked breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, panini's, soups, homemade cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.
The Oaks Lakes sit to the North end of the village and are screened with woodland and hedges there are 10 fishing lakes used for many course fishing competitions and featured regularly in the leading angling magazines. The whole area teams with places to go, whether you want to Walk, Cycle or Drive there is plenty to do here is a few: 18 miles away is the ancient walled City of York straight down the A19 approx 35 Minutes. 3 miles will take you to the market town of Thirsk, with its interesting James Herriott Museum. Castle Howard sits thirteen miles from us in the pretty market town of Helmsley.
All pitches are level, supersized hardstanding approx 14m x 12m wide.

Quiet peaceful site, was close to where we needed to be. Check in east via intercom.Facilities basic, were there for three nights. One of the ladies shower didn’t seem to get warm. Facilities didn’t look as if got cleaned during our stay.
This will suit you whether you are looking to visit the local area or fish. We combined both, going into Thirsk which is lovely with York and the coast in proximity. The site is of a good standard all round, great TV and satellite reception and the phone signal/5G too. Fishing is excellent both specimen and general. Seriously good well kitted ouf tackle shop. They sell all your bait including maggots boilies, dips, rigs etc. and kit.as well with all the main brands. Its better than many on the high street. Excellent cafe. There us no formal caravan site reception, it's all by intercom. Barrier closes at night. We never actually met Sarah the owner but that was OK. Contact number was available 24 hours. Sometimes it's nice to just be on your pitch and relaxed. Gravel cinder hard standings which takes hard pegs with grass adjacent to each pitch and electric hook up which seemed more than the 10 amp rating as advertised, we had no issues. We will definitely be back.
Lovely site Great communication before booking. Slight issue with ladies showers which was sorted quickly. Lovely walks around fishing lakes and great cafe on site. We only live locally and this will be our new home to when we need a break from domestic bliss at home !
Really nice quiet site, good facilities, staff very helpful & accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay
Although not into fishing ourselves, we used this site for an overnight stay as a break in our journey, we appreciate how well serviced it is for anyone who enjoys fishing seemingly to us providing everything they could need .The only minor drawback was the shower in the ladies wasn't getting warm , but everything was spotless in all amenities.
If you are a fisherman/Woman kids its good. The outlook is poor. Hedges to high, unable to get a view.
Large flat pitches. Services all clean and available. Fishing is really good. Bailiff was very helpful a friendly. Would recommend to anyone
