The Oaks lakes at Sessay in North Yorkshire is home to lakes for both match and pleasure fishing. The lakes originally opened in 1994 starting with the Willows lake and over the years it has steadily grown. We currently have 10 lakes with over 400 Pegs, a large café, tackle shop and this year we will be opening a caravan Park in a quiet corner of the lakes so that everyone can come and enjoy the North's most well-known fishing complex.

The 4-acre field is rectangular with a mature wood running along the North West side providing shelter and privacy from the fishing lakes, the North east side faces the Hambleton Hills and the white horse.

A small peaceful, adults only, touring caravan park with supersized hard standing pitches all with their own electrical hook-up, situated in a quiet corner of the fishery but with easy access to the lakes and facilities. Next door to the tackle shop is the Oaks Lakes Cafe which is open everyday, serving cooked breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, panini's, soups, homemade cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.

The Oaks Lakes sit to the North end of the village and are screened with woodland and hedges there are 10 fishing lakes used for many course fishing competitions and featured regularly in the leading angling magazines. The whole area teams with places to go, whether you want to Walk, Cycle or Drive there is plenty to do here is a few: 18 miles away is the ancient walled City of York straight down the A19 approx 35 Minutes. 3 miles will take you to the market town of Thirsk, with its interesting James Herriott Museum. Castle Howard sits thirteen miles from us in the pretty market town of Helmsley.

Fabulous from start to finish

We had yet another fantastic stay after returning again from last year, camping and fishing for 5 days, the camping firstly was spot on beautiful shower and toilet blocks with added washing up area, the pitches are well sized and grounds are just beautiful. And the fishing! Well fantastic we loved every pond we tried , cedar been our favourite again, my only thing was we went to set up and was told there was a match now we didn't know that and you have to drive right back up to far gates to read board , maybe write it on actual ponds board for those that are on camp site and not in and out (just an idea) that was the only fault we had as anyone knows takes time to set up your gear to have to put it down and move on again. Both owners and the bailiff were all absolutely lovely, always chatty and nice and actually take time to speak to you , certainly not just about money there that's for sure, cafe tackle shop everyone was fab We will certainly be back again next year , 👍

Site had good sized level hard-standing pitches. Sarah was very welcoming. We cannot comment on the facilities as we used our own. Easy access from A19. Good for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales wonderful scenic routes and villages to Whitby and Scarborough. National Trust, English Heritage and RHS places within easy reach as is York. We booked for two weeks and stayed for three and would thoroughly recommend The Oaks Lakes. Very good price.
