Another excellent stay, no negatives.

We absolutely loved our stay at baxby manor. Having previously stayed in rufus’ roost 7 years ago it was lovely to stay in a hoglet and have a total digital detox. The lights made it magical and the sounds of nature completed the peaceful and tranquil rest we much needed (even with a toddler!). Definitely stock up on firewood but it gets so toasty in the cabin it was a true retreat. Barney very friendly and the toilets and showers were impeccable. Thanks again!

Hidden away in a cozy nook of countryside, we stayed in a Hoglet Hibernation Hut just next to a small river. There had been plenty of heavy rain building up to our stay and although we had passed many flooded fields locally, the grounds here were good. We arrived late and had a welcome pack waiting for us at reception with everything we needed. The cafe uses high quality ingredients and the breakfasts and coffees were amazing. The main attraction was the hogley house. I needn't have worried about feeling the cold, the log burner is extremely sufficient at keeping the hut toasty. Our whole weekend was amazing and very comfortable thanks to this little piece of heaven. We loved the quiet nights, it's a thing here! Also the cleanliness in all the facilities was spot on. Thank you the guys here who made us feel welcome you also made it an amazing stay.

I recently stayed at Baxby Manor on my first visit to the area. I often take weekend breaks, usually to the Lakes or the Dales, but this is a really lovely area and a great alternative.The lodge itself was beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. The hot tub was perfect and definitely a highlight of the stay. There were ample towels provided and the facilities overall were excellent. There’s no TV, which I didn’t mind, but it would have been a nice touch to have a radio and perhaps some cards or board games available for guests.The fire pit is a fantastic addition and really adds to the outdoor experience. I do think a BBQ would complement this well and enhance outdoor living, especially in warmer weather.I would love to return in the future, however unfortunately I have two dogs and the accommodation only allows one. As there are many similar lodges in the area that accept two dogs, this may mean I have to look at alternatives next time.Overall, a very relaxing a

I booked a Hoglet House for me and my two children (aged 8 and 11) as an early January getaway and it was perfect! We received a warm welcome and the Hoglet House was clean and well equipped with a roaring fire to greet us. We ordered pizza from the Pizza Shack, which provided delicious food and efficient service. The communal facilities were spotless.We slept really well and woke up to a dusting of snow and winter birdsong. We’ll be making this an annual visit!

Everything is so well thought out, the toilets/washing areas are incredibly clean and no hassle getting to (even in the middle of a freezing cold night). The cabin was gorgeous, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and everything was very well maintained. Me and my family had the best couple of days - we actually had planned on going on some adventures nearby, but we loved the hideaway so much that we ended up staying on the grounds the whole time. Can't wait to return.

Lovely campsite with lots of character and clean facilities. The pizza shack is a great add to the site. The pizzas and other food available were top notch. We stayed in a Hoglet and the only issue we had were the lack of lighting inside the accommodation. The two portable lights which were provided wasn’t fully charged so kept going very dim. Also don’t believe in the winter them two lights are enough.

We love staying in the hobbit houses over the Christmas break. Great to escape the TV and screens and bond as a family in a little cozy hideaway. So nice to have the fire lit for arrival and all the fairy lights on and the on site pizzeria is fantastic! Thank you, we will be back!
