Had a great couple of days stay in camper van. Pitch was spacious and private. As it was late in season the whole site was very quiet and peaceful.Staff were super friendly and helpful. Facilities were spotless. Loved been sat by the fire pit listening to the wildlife late into the night. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
everything was great except the bed, which was very uncomfortable unfortunately , but location, amenities & staff all first class
We've been many times over the years to Baxby Manor and treated ourselves again to staying in one of the Kabina's! Really nice campsite, quiet and relaxing. Good couple of pubs a short walk away. The pizza's on site are not to be missed.
A lot of careful planning had gone into this event. The facilitation - and the food- was excellent. It might be better held earlier in the year - the weather was against some planned activities and it was cold at night. A note re marketing this event in future- the overview on the website which led me to book did not give the detailed content which I found misleading & almost led me to cancel.
The Hideaway @Baxby Manor is a place everyone needs to visit. From start to finish the stay was everything you could hope for. Staff were incredibly friendly, great welcome information and shop, everything environmentally friendly. The site pizza shack/ coffee shack was the perfect touch with delicious food and drinks on offer. The Kabinas interior was beautiful with everything you could possibly need for your break, the outdoor area great for relaxing and lovely to see campers around also. The site had amazing facilities for campers even though these weren’t required for ourselves. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff members. Will definitely be returning
Nicely set out camping pitches, good space and a fire pit on each pitch. Good shop on site, really great pizza and breakfast shack. Lovely eco ethos of the site, and set in nice natural surroundings. A short walk to nearby village with a great playground and also a nice country pub. A couple of downsides - the parking areas are VERY tight, small spaces and narrow tracks making it quite difficult. Also bizarre rules in toilets and shower areas about taking off all shoes on entry. We’ve stayed in hundreds of campsites and never seen this before. I can understand not wearing muddy boots or wellies - but taking off dry / clean shoes or crocs? Odd. Nobody wants to stand in their socks in other peoples urine on the floor. This needs sorting out with common sense I feel.
Thank you Andrew for your feedback. :-)Yes, the parking is a little tight to say the least! Cars are getting bigger and I probably mis-calculated when digging out the parking areas back in 2012! With regards the shoes in the shower block; we do state on the Booking Confirmation email that you received when you booked that if you have some crocs or flip flops or similar to bring with you and change into that helps keeps the facilities as clean as you’d hope them to be, and the sign in the entrance kindly reminds people to remove outdoor shoes. We just ask people to keep it clean for others by removing outdoor/muddy shoes not remove shoes altogether, for the reasons you mention. Although….I’d rather hope there wasn't any urine puddles on the floor, especially in the ladies?!! We haven’t won Loo of the Year for our urine puddles lol :-))Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the site as a whole, the eco ethos, natural surroundings, and enjoyed some of Matt’s delicious pizzas. Aren’t they SOOO good!
Great campsite, for glamping, or camping. Staff really welcoming, facilities are clean and really good. Cannot recommend enough.
We have stayed At Baxby Manor eight times now, and go back there at least twice a year, very friendly staff plus very clean amenities, enjoy a pizza on a night time from the on site pizza hut sitting round the camp fire, we recommended Baxby Manor to some friends and they are going there September
This place is our absolute favourite campsite, returning year after year and it just gets better everytime. Barney is amazing, pizzas are delicious and the cider is the cherry on top! Nothing beats cooking your own tea over a real campfire followed by a toasted marshmallow.
