We stayed at the Alders last year on a trip to visit York and thought highly of it and so decided to use it again as a one night stopover en-route to Cambridge this year.The site is well-maintained and the facilities are spot on. The village is lovely and it's a short bus journey to York if visiting. A warm welcome was had though we missed visiting the shop this time. We will no doubt stay here again in the future. Perhaps then we'll finally get to have a beer at the cricket club! Note to self: book for a Friday!

A lovely, very spacious site, perfect toilets and showers, very peaceful. Bus stop very near with easy access to York and Thirsk. Good cafe on site and friendly staff, Overall excellent.

We live this site, beautiful nature walk around the perimeter, such space around the pitches, 3rd year on the trot for us and who can resist the coffee shop at the entrance, its a piece of heaven

Very friendly staff. Nice flat site. Excellent cafe. Great pub nearby. Good amenities on site, toilet and shower block was clean and warm.

We had the best time we stayed for a long weekend in one of the pods our son camped and the rest of the family had caravans or camper vans.The staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. We ate at the onsite cafe twice for brunch and breakfast it was delicious again the staff are to be commended they were brilliant not just with us but with other guests .The facilities were exemplary.The space that you have outside your pod tent or caravan is massive so if you have children they have plenty of room to play.We visited the cricket club next door which in my opinion is a must again super friendly.We will return absolutely positively the best camping experience I’ve had in York and on the plus side if you want to do parkrun on a Saturday morning it’s only 20 mins drive away

The team are always so cheerful, welcoming and go above and beyond. We go a few times a year and just being acknowledged by name is so lovely. Well looked after grounds, clean showers and a cafe on sight are all a bonus.

We found the staff very helpful ad friendly. The campsite is clean and peaceful with good, clean facilities. The campsitesite is a great base for visiting attractions within North Yorkshire

Our pod was clean, cosy and came equipped with a lamp and heater, with drinking water taps situated nearby. The washing facilities were clean, and included baby changing. The park itself is peaceful and well kept, with chickens, cows and sheep — my daughter especially loved watching the chickens being fed. We enjoyed the cricket and sitting at the clubhouse. Highlight was Whiteley’s cafe. The owners and employees were incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious!

We found the Alders a quiet, peaceful site where if you are looking just pitching up and staying there without moving off site its ideal.The pitches are a good 10 to 15 minute walk, to the nearest restaurant/pub which serves fantastic and well presented food. For us it was a bit far given that my partner has mobility issues. There is a cricket club bar closer that it open on a weekend if you want a drink or to get out.The site has plenty of toilets and showers which are clean.Our only issue with these was that you couldn't control the temperature of them and they were lukewarm at best.As we said. If you want to pitch up and stay then this is an ideal site for you.
