Well worth the visit

Boyd, Graham - 16/09/2022

Lovely quiet site despite its size and the showers/toilets were impeccably clean. The Café was a real bonus, we could have sat in there all day. For cricket lovers the local club is on the edge of the site and encourages site visitors to use their facilities. Great staff who were all helpful and friendly

Fantastic campsite

Murray, Samantha - 15/09/2022

We had a fantastic stay the pitches were well spaced out there was plenty of room between each pitch you’ll be pleasantly surprised. A lovely site with a cafe that served fab food from a full English breakfast to cream teas. The campsite is a short drive to the local village which had lots of shops delicatessen pubs restaurants along with other general shops. We took a bike ride and found the shop owners very friendly with a local tea shop going out of their way to accommodate the bikes in the back seating area. There was a local homegrown fruit and veg barrow at the entrance to the campsite. We will definitely be going back again soon

Bank holiday break

Winter, Robert - 02/09/2022

We’ve been visiting this site for four years now as it’s just a short journey from home for a weekend break and it never disappoints. It’s a lovely peaceful site in a village location; the pitches are really spacious and the facilities are good. If you’re lucky, you might catch a village cricket game at the pitch adjoining the site. The owners and staff are really friendly and a small cafe has recently opened at reception. Local bus service into York and plenty of quiet roads to cycle on towards Boroughbridge and Ripon. Highly recommended.

Fantastic site

Gledhill, Sarah - 02/09/2022

The welcome from the staff was lovely, showing us to our camping pod and giving us lots of information about the site. The pod was clean and cosy, with 2 power sockets for a lamp and heater as well as additional lights on the wall. There is a picnic bench for each pod, and extras under the canopy for eating and cooking if it rains. The site was quiet and safe for children with plenty of space and suitable for riding around on bikes. The shower blocks were good, no queues and clean. We enjoyed watching the cricket which has a good bar too. An excellent site which we would definitely return to.

Spacious camping in a beautiful location

Poulter, Nick - 27/08/2022

The pitches were nice and big and there was loads of room all around. The facilities were clean and well looked after. A few more showers would have turned it from “good” to “excellent”. The location is great, and the cycle into York lovely - 16 miles but very flat and a couple of nice pubs to break up the cycle back!

Many thanks for taking the time to leave such kind feedback. The feedback about the showers is useful too, but the cost of extra showers versus offering value for money is always a difficult one and we find the showers tend to be busy in August only. Hope you can find the time to visit us again,Best Wishes from The Alders Team.
