Being so close to a major town, decent (if expensive) local shop and a pub you would think this is perfectly situated, and it is. Sumners is absolutely perfect for a family holiday, with fishing and longs walks all over. We’ve been visiting for around 25 years, almost since it started I would imagine and with not a single exception it has grown and improved with every visit. The only slight downer is the housing estate as you drive in, but there are so many improvements once you’ve past this that it becomes insignificant. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Obv noisy with flight path and trains but thats to be expected. Only problem is very inconsiderate neighbours on last night who were running a live ‘tick tock’ show to Europe . The language, volume and sexual inuendo was unacceptable. When the user announced he would be back on line at 9.30 pm with his Paranormal something or other show, I packed up and left. So - a member of staff to call in times like this would have been nice. As far as I know there were no staff or security to enforce the rules. I may be mistaken in this but if there was no one then there should be . Other than that a lovely stay
The site is Excellent with the shower toilet block being very clean and well looked after. The pitches are well spaced out with electric hook up. The cafe is good and good value for money which we used a few times. The tackle shop is well stocked. All staff are polite and professional. This was our third stay at Sumners we convinced our friends to come along and they were impressed with the site.Good stay even if I didn't catch, "but that's fishing"
We stayed here for four nights, arriving on a very busy, sunny Sunday afternoon in April. In future we would opt to come mid-week and certainly during term time for a little more peace and quiet. Having said that, the kids were happy and we were boo a very private pitch that was hedged on each side and had a great outlook onto the pretty Sumners lake, with its abundance of wildfowl. Hubby fished from our pitch and had a go at the adjacent pond and enjoyed a productive time. We have two dogs and were close to the woodland walk, which was ideal. We visited the cafe which provided good lunches and snacks. We use our own facilities,so can’t comment, those at the cafe were spotless. We visited Worthing famous for the pier, shops and various eateries providing fish and chips and ice cream. A little nearer to the site is the Knepp estate with it’s gourmet Wilding cafe, shop and walking trails, and also in the area are pretty villages and gardens to visit. We look forward to returning
Camped on the rally field on this occasion. Very peaceful although you will be woken early by the resident wildlife. I find this part of Sumners charm. Spacious pitches and a stones throw from one of five fishing lakes. There was a welcome addition on this visit, there is now a snack shack open from 4.30pm for food. I can recommend the chilli, large portion and very tasty. The cafe by the lake serves wonderful food also, up to 3pm. The facilities are always spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sumners to all, walking, enclosed dog walking areas, farm animals, fishing and site seeing in and around the local area, Sumners offers all of these in its wonderfully simplistic, peaceful and scenic campsite.
We've never stayed here before & we loved it & loved the facilities. The beautiful cake on arrival was a wonderful surprise. And the brand new BBQ was fantastic. The only negatives are that some of the items were very old & should have been replaced AGES ago!! EG the pillows were very poor & the chopping boards were awful & should be replaced more regularly.
Can’t praise Sumners Pond enough. Accommodation is beautiful and lovely and clean. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Site is beautiful. Only comment I have is that the Cafe is great, but it would be nice to have a few interesting salads on the menu.

One of the best campsites for us. Lovely staff, pitches, cafe and site itself for lovely walks. Lovely to see the ducks and geese. Although we don’t fish it’s So peaceful around the lakes for a stroll round with the dogs
